Nigun Grid Luin stared at me with narrowed eyes, gripping the sacred scripture in his hand tightly. His soldiers stood in formation, their weapons raised, ready to strike. Despite their numbers, I could see doubt creeping into their expressions. The way I had effortlessly walked into their camp, blade in hand, clearly unsettled them.
I smiled.
"Shall we begin?"
Before anyone could react, I vanished.
With a burst of speed, I dashed forward, my katana flashing in the moonlight. The first knight barely had time to register my movement before my blade sliced cleanly through his armor, cutting him down instantly. Blood sprayed across the dirt as his body crumpled, and panic set in among the others.
"Spread out! Don't let him—!" One of them tried to command, but I was already behind him.
"Second Form: Waterfall Slash."
A deep blue arc of energy surged forward, cutting through three knights at once. The sheer force sent them flying, their bodies crashing into the nearby trees with sickening thuds. The ground beneath us became slick with blood.
Screams erupted as the soldiers scrambled to regroup. Some of them rushed at me, their weapons raised high.
How foolish.
"Third Form: Gale Force."
Spinning in place, I unleashed a whirlwind of cutting wind energy, sending their attacks flying back at them. Swords shattered, armor split apart, and men were thrown like ragdolls, crashing into each other in a pile of broken limbs.
Demiurge and Solution stood back, watching with interest. I could sense their amusement at how one-sided this fight was.
Nigun, however, didn't share their amusement.
His face twisted in frustration. "Tch. You monster..."
I laughed. "Come on, you're supposed to be an elite force, aren't you? Try harder!"
He snarled before raising his hand. "Enough. You leave me no choice!"
Reaching into his robes, he pulled out a Sealing Crystal, its surface glowing ominously. I knew exactly what was coming next.
With a flick of his wrist, the crystal shattered in his hand, releasing a surge of divine power.
From above, golden light burst forth as a Dominion Authority descended.
A massive angel, radiant and holy, spread its six wings wide as it hovered above us. Its golden armor shimmered in the moonlight, and its piercing blue eyes locked onto me with divine judgment.
Nigun grinned, his earlier panic replaced by smug confidence.
"A mere monster like you has no chance against the judgment of the gods!" he declared. "This is the power granted to us by the heavens themselves!"
The Dominion Authority raised its arm, divine energy crackling around it.
I could feel the sheer power radiating from it. It was undoubtedly strong in this world—but nothing I couldn't handle.
I exhaled slowly, tightening my grip on my katana.
"Let's test your so-called 'divine judgment' then."
The angel moved first.
In an instant, it shot toward me, its speed immense. I barely had time to react as it swung a massive, glowing sword down at me.
I dodged to the side, the blade slicing cleanly through the earth where I had been standing. The sheer force of the impact sent a shockwave through the battlefield, sending debris flying in all directions.
I jumped back, keeping my eyes locked on the celestial being.
I needed something big for this.
Raising my blade, I took a deep breath.
"Tenth Form: Sonic Boom."
The moment I swung, a visible shockwave of sound energy exploded outward.
The entire battlefield shook as a deafening blast erupted, sending waves of compressed air slamming into the Dominion Authority. The force was immense—enough to bend the very air itself, creating a vacuum effect that shattered the ground beneath us.
The angel reeled back, its body convulsing from the sheer force of the attack. Its golden armor cracked, light spilling from within as it let out an ear-piercing screech.
Nigun's smug expression vanished in an instant.
"H-HOW?! That's impossible!"
I didn't let up.
With another burst of speed, I launched myself forward, using the lingering shockwave to amplify my movement.
Before the Dominion Authority could recover, I was already upon it.
With one final slash, I tore through its core, cleaving it in two.
For a brief moment, the angel hung in the air, its form flickering, unable to comprehend its defeat.
Then, with a final, desperate shriek, it shattered into nothingness.
Silence fell over the battlefield.
Nigun stood frozen in place, his eyes wide with absolute horror.
"That… that was an angel of the gods… it was supposed to be invincible…"
I smirked, wiping my blade clean. "Guess your gods aren't as strong as you thought."
Nigun took a step back, his entire body trembling. "N-No… this… this can't be…."
I approached him slowly.
He tried to run.
I didn't let him.
With one swift movement, I grabbed him by the throat and lifted him off the ground.
He struggled, gasping for air, his hands clawing at my wrist.
"P-Please… have mercy…!" he choked out.
I leaned in close. "Mercy? From a monster like me?"
He let out a weak, terrified whimper.
I sighed. "Unfortunately for you… I don't do mercy."
And with a final squeeze, I crushed his throat, snapping his neck instantly.
His body went limp in my grasp before I tossed him aside like garbage.
Turning back to Demiurge and Solution, I found them both smiling.
Demiurge gave me an approving nod. "A magnificent display, my lord. Truly, you are beyond even the gods themselves."
Solution tilted her head, amusement glimmering in her eyes. "That was quite the satisfying spectacle."
I chuckled, sheathing my katana. "Well, that was fun. But we should probably get moving before more pests show up."
Demiurge bowed. "As you command, my lord."
Without another word, I opened a gate and stepped through, leaving behind the battlefield littered with corpses.
The Slane Theocracy had just lost some of their best forces.
