Chapter 167 - Chapter 150 - Familiar Face

After everything was over, the barrier surrounding Djeeta disappeared, allowing Rei to finally see what had been happening inside.

The entire event had only lasted a few minutes, but he had still managed to gather a good amount of information from the barrier's energy.

"So that's how it works…" he murmured as he walked forward, looking around at the faint remnants of Boundary Power still floating in the air.

He could also see the same energy surrounding Djeeta, though her hair had not turned blue. That meant one Revenant Weapon was still not enough to fully unlock that power again.

"Nice, Djeeta. You got a power-up," Rei said.

"Yeah. It's still not the same as during that time, but this is still really good," Djeeta replied as she clenched her fists a few times, feeling the strength running through her body.

Then she looked down at the greataxe in her hand. The weapon had already lost its glow, and the three stars had returned to looking like nothing more than decorations.

"Is this a Revenant Weapon?"

"Yeah, that's the Three-Tiger Axe. You remember how you used it against me, right?"

"Of course. I wonder if I can do it again."

"Probably. But we should head back. It's already late, and we still need to bring Threo with us," Rei said.

Both of them agreed to return home. Rei picked Threo up again, then unfolded his wings and carried both of them as he flew away from the island, heading back toward the others.

After they arrived back, the first thing they did was return to their home.

The moment they stepped inside, the entire house became loud. Everyone immediately noticed Rei carrying another girl, while his outfit was torn and stained with blood.

Panic quickly spread through the room as they saw his condition, and several of them rushed over to check on him.

Rei quickly reassured them that he was fine and said he would explain what had happened to him and Djeeta later.

For now, he carried Threo to one of the empty rooms so she could rest there. Since the clothes she had been wearing were completely ruined during the fight, they borrowed one of Narmaya's outfits for her to change into.

After that, everyone gathered in the living room.

Rei began telling them what had happened.

Lyria, Orchid, Vyrn, Katalina, Io, Rackam, Eugen, Rosetta, Narmaya, Sandalphon, Halluel, Malluel, Lucia, Therese, and Jessica all listened intently as Rei recounted the entire story.

"So the energy we felt earlier was you, Djeeta? That was Boundary Power, right? Did you finally get it back?" Halluel asked as she looked at Djeeta.

"That would be incredible if you really have it back. I still remember how overwhelming you were during that time," Malluel said, agreeing with her twin sister.

"But the power we felt isn't the same as before. Is it still incomplete?" Sandalphon asked.

"Yeah, it's only fragments of it. But here, look."

Djeeta stood up from the sofa and walked a short distance away so everyone could see her clearly.

Taking a deep breath, she drew the Boundary Power from within her body as she raised her right arm.

"Three."

A burst of blue energy suddenly exploded from her entire body.

In her right hand, the Three-Tiger Axe appeared—but unlike Threo's weapon, the one Djeeta held was different. Its form was blue mixed with faint purple hues, partially transparent, with three glowing stars decorating the greataxe's blade.

"Woah, what is that? That power is incredible. I've never seen anything like it before," Vyrn said. This was technically the first time he had seen it with his own eyes.

Everyone except those who had already witnessed Djeeta's Boundary Power in another timeline stared at her in shock.

"That energy is really different… I've never felt something like this before," Narmaya said, her usual gentle onee-chan atmosphere disappearing as she looked at Djeeta seriously.

"Me too. I've never seen anything like this either. Even the books back in the Enforcers don't have any description of power like this," Lecia added.

"What kind of power is that?" Katalina asked.

"I don't know," was all Djeeta could say.

Because it was the truth. She didn't know what this power was, nor how it had existed inside her body all this time—only that it needed something to ignite it, and that something seemed to be a Revenant Weapon.

"I don't know why I have this power… but I don't really care either. If it can help us reach Estalucia and protect everyone during our journey, then that's enough."

Everyone reacted to Djeeta's words in their own way. Some looked at her with understanding, others with quiet concern. A few of them exchanged glances, clearly thinking about the weight she had just placed on her own shoulders. The atmosphere in the room softened slightly, the earlier excitement about her power giving way to a more thoughtful silence.

Then Eugen suddenly let out a rough laugh.

"Captain, you don't need to carry something that heavy all by yourself," he said, leaning back in his seat with his arms crossed. His tone was casual, but his eyes were serious.

Rackam nodded in agreement.

"He's right," Rackam added. "You're the captain, sure—but that also means you should trust your crew. Even if we don't have power like that, we'll still use everything we've got to help."

Everyone nodded, agreeing with what both Eugen and Rackam had said. Even if they were weaker than their captain, if they worked together, they could still help.

Djeeta stood there, looking at everyone. She remembered how her journey had started.

At the beginning, it had only been her, Rei, Vyrn, Lyria, and Katalina. But somehow, along the way, many more people had come to join them and place their trust in her.

Everything had happened so fast. In just a few months, they had gone from a group of four to now more than ten members.

So as the captain, the only thing she could do was trust her crew and her friends. As the Boundary Power around her slowly disappeared, she smiled slightly.

"Of course. I'll be counting on everyone to take care of me too—even if I'm just a newbie captain."

The next day arrived, and Rei planned to take it easy after the fight against Threo yesterday.

Usually, he would shut himself inside his dimension to run experiments, especially after gaining new information about Boundary Power.

But today he wasn't in the mood to do that, so he decided to spend the day relaxing with everyone in the house.

He planned to hang out with Lyria and Orchid, maybe go to town or visit the palace to see Orchis.

Unfortunately, his plan had to be postponed because someone suddenly arrived early in the morning.

"Reeiii~ my dear, I missed you so much!"

The Lord of Albion Citadel, Vira, suddenly appeared in front of Rei.

"Vira? How—when did you get here?" Rei asked, completely flabbergasted as she suddenly appeared in front of him and hugged him.

With everything that had happened recently, he had almost forgotten about her. Seeing her show up so suddenly caught him completely off guard.

"Of course it's because I missed you, my dear~" Vira replied with a soft smile. "You said you were going to send letters, but I've been waiting for months for one that never arrived."

"Oh yes, I'm really sorry about that. So much has happened since we left that I completely forgot," Rei said apologetically as he returned the hug, gently wrapping his arms around her.

"Hm~ what kind of things have you been doing that made you forget about me?" Vira asked, tilting her head slightly as she looked up at him.

"A lot of things. I'll tell you about them later."

After a moment, they slowly released their hug, though neither of them stepped away. Their hands still rested on each other's arms as they looked at one another.

"Really? Then you better have a good excuse for it," Vira said with a soft laugh, her eyes narrowing playfully.

"Of course. So what brings you here?"

Before they could continue their conversation, Rei suddenly heard hurried footsteps approaching from behind, making him glance back toward the house.

The door burst open as Katalina rushed outside.

"Vira? When did you arri—?" Her words abruptly stopped the moment she saw Rei and Vira still holding onto each other.

"Ehh… did I disturb you two?"

Katalina immediately turned her head slightly to the side, clearly unsure where to look, her expression awkward as she tried to give them some space.

Seeing her reaction, Rei and Vira both let out a small laugh.

Vira let go of Rei and walked toward Katalina.

"Katalina, it's been a while. How have you been?" Vira asked warmly as she stepped closer and pulled her into a brief hug before letting go.

"Ah, yes. I've been doing well. What about you?" Katalina replied.

"Fufufu, I've been well too," Vira said with a light, amused laugh.

Rei watched the two of them from where he stood, feeling a little strange about the scene. He knew this was ultimately his fault.

Because of him, Vira wasn't obsessed with Katalina like she was supposed to be in the original story.

Back when he first met her, he still couldn't control his power properly. In order to save her after her fight against him, he had accidentally poured too much of Lucifer's energy into her body.

Somehow, though, her body managed to harmonize with that energy. Instead of rejecting it, the power remained inside her and slowly changed her.

Because of that, Vira changed drastically. Her attention shifted away from Katalina and instead focused on him—the source of the energy inside her.

That curiosity had quickly turned into love after she had pounced on him when Rei tried to fix the problem… even though he ultimately failed.

Still, the current him could definitely fix her now and return her to normal.

Rei unfolded the letter in his hands, the parchment thick and neatly written with careful, elegant handwriting. The ink was dark and precise, every line arranged in a formal manner befitting an official announcement from Albion Citadel.

The letter began with a respectful greeting issued in the name of Albion's ruling authority, formally addressing all knights, warriors, and capable fighters residing within Albion's territory. It announced that Albion Citadel would soon be hosting a grand knight tournament, an event meant to celebrate martial skill, honor, and the strength of those who served the skies.

The contents explained that the tournament would be open to all participants across Albion who wished to prove their abilities. Knights of the Citadel, soldiers, adventurers, and independent fighters alike were all welcome to take part, so long as they registered before the appointed date.

It further stated that the tournament would take place within the great arena of Albion Citadel, where competitors would face one another in honorable matches under the supervision of Albion's knights. The event was described as both a test of strength and a celebration meant to bring together warriors from across the island.

At the end of the letter, several formal lines detailed the conditions of participation and the time at which the tournament would begin. The message closed with an official seal from Albion Citadel, confirming it as a legitimate summons and invitation for those willing to step forward and test their skill.

"Vira… isn't this—? Are you going to stop being the Lord of Albion?" Katalina asked quickly after finishing the letter, her voice filled with surprise.

"Of course not. If I step down, there would be no one else to manage Albion," Vira replied calmly, shaking her head slightly.

"But isn't this tournament meant to decide who will become the next lord?" Katalina said, still looking confused.

After all, she had participated in that very tournament seven years ago, when both she and Vira had just graduated from the knights' academy.

During the final match between them, she had made the greatest mistake of her life—one that left an awkward distance between her and Vira for many years.

Fortunately, thanks to Rei, that lingering awkwardness had long since disappeared. The two of them had managed to reconcile and rebuild their relationship, becoming friends once again.

"Fufu, I've already decided to remain as Lord of Albion until everything has stabilized," Vira said with a soft laugh. "But it would be a waste if such a tournament were never held again. So I decided to start it once more—this time simply to allow the knights to showcase their abilities."

"But why am I being invited too?" Rei asked, holding up the letter slightly. He wasn't a knight of Albion, yet somehow he had received an official invitation as well.

"Well… that's another problem," Vira said, hesitating a little.

"Another problem?" Katalina asked, tilting her head in confusion.

Vira let out a quiet sigh before explaining the situation.

As the current Lord of Albion, it was only natural that people expected her to eventually choose a partner. The matter had become something the nobles and knights of Albion frequently discussed, especially now that she had firmly established her position as the ruler of the citadel.

If she were still obsessed with Katalina like before, it would not have caused much trouble. Everyone in Albion knew Katalina well, and many of the knights respected her swordsmanship and character.

But the person Vira loved now was not Katalina.

It was Rei.

And that created a problem.

No one in Albion knew who Rei was. To them, he was simply a foreigner with no connection to their island. The idea that such a person might suddenly become the partner of Albion's lord was something many of them found difficult to accept.

"So I decided to restart the tournament," Vira explained calmly. "If you participate, everyone will be able to see your abilities for themselves."

She smiled slightly as she looked at him.

"That way, they'll have fewer reasons to complain."

"I see… so that's the real reason you did this," Katalina said, her expression softening as she finally understood Vira's intentions. Vira didn't care much for tradition—what bothered her most was seeing Rei constantly underestimated.

"Yes," Vira said firmly. "That's why I hope you two will come with me back to Albion."

Rei and Katalina exchanged a glance, silently agreeing.

"Of course, we'll follow you," Katalina said with a nod.

"Yep. I'll show them my abilities myself, so you can rest easy," Rei added, his tone calm but determined.

"Thank you, both of you," Vira said, a genuine smile lighting her face as relief and gratitude shone in her eyes
