The Hero opens one eye to check his surroundings, the Princess appears to have fallen asleep already, which was the most important thing. Link slowly gets up, crosses his arms at the hem of his shirt, his fingers curling into the fabric of the tunic, and in one fluid motion, he pulled it up and over his head. He then uses it to cover Zelda.
That should do, she can still smell me and stay a little warm. Time to go find that blue Hinox. Hopefully it won't take me long to track him down. And, as an added bonus, I may also find a good fishing spot, or a herd I can hunt from in the morning… lizard meat doesn't tastes bad, but I find it insufficient. I want to eat a mountain goat or a buffalo.
Link looks at the Picto Box and decides to place it closer to where the Princess lay.
There, if she does wake up, she will know that I did not head to kill the Hinox. So she won't be mad and just wait for my return.
But the Time Hero does take the sword before leaving. 3 hours later, the Princess wakes up almost screaming.
She looks around searching for Link but he is not there.
ZELDA POV
For Din's sake… he left me. And he covered me with his tunic so I wouldn't notice.
Zelda starts looking around herself, notices the absence of the sword and bites her own arm trying to suppress an angry scream and starts to dress up.
The motherfucker is going for the Blue Hinox. Or why else would he take the sword? What the hell is he thinking? He has no healing ointment since I have not prepared it yet. Is he really not afraid that the Blue Hinox could kill him, or leave him quadriplegic?
The Princess stands and breaths in deeply realizing something.
I can't fucking chase him; I know in which direction to find the Hinox since Dad told us. But what if something attacks me? Heading out to chase him right now is like stating that I am still a toddler throwing a tantrum, and it will also put me at risk of an attack. If I want to win Link's trust and respect, I must stay and wait for him.
Zelda stomps her foot in frustration, then looks around and immediately notices the Picto Box and smiles.
He didn't go out to kill the blue Hinox. If he did, he would not have left the Picto Box. Maybe he went to verify its location, and took the sword just in case. Ha, he may even try to hunt something… since he had been very displeased dining only the lizards.
I won't be able to sleep until his return so… I should wash the herbs to make the healing ointment.
The Princess changes into her exercise trousers and white tunic, puts on her boots and grabs the makeshift basket Raziel had done for her to store the herbs and the chuchu jelly. She picks up the cooking pot and carries it to the small pond conveniently situated 10 mts away from their camp to fill it.
Once she was done, she uses Link's Swiss Knife like he had shown her to start the fire and boil the water. After a few minutes, the water was boiling; the Princess let it boil a little longer before removing the pot from the flame to let it cool before washing the herbs.
An hour later Zelda had finished grinding the herbs and brewing them with the chuchu jelly, she was now placing the ointment on a small glass bottle she had brought for that purpose.
I was hoping to use some beeswax for this, but redchuchu jelly works better according to the medicine book I read.
Zelda thought as suddenly Link was there, tunic less and a little sweaty. Zelda looks at him very briefly and lowers her sight again to finish storing the ointment.
He had no right to look like that… I mean, does it take a special kind facial frame and body structure to look so alluring? Or does having scars from a wolfo's attack in the abdomen makes ANY man sexy as fuck?
"Where you going for an easy, quick kill by seducing the Hinox?" Zelda jokes.
Link chuckles and shakes his head once "Turns out, I am not his type" he says as he puts his tunic back on "On good news, once I get rid of him, we gain access to an area where mountain goats and buffalos graze"
"Meaning we get to eat meat… enough meat to fill those 8 stomachs of yours?"
Ziel smiles greedily "Indeed… but, who said I got 8? I believe that one is Robert, I only have 6"
Because that makes so much of a difference
Rolling her eyes "Anyway, I am done brewing the healing ointment" Zelda exclaims shaking the small glass bottle that contained it "This should be able to treat wounds, cuts, burns, and infections in a matter of minutes since it boosts your healing factor by 10 or so"
The Princess pulls out Ziel's Swiss dagger and gives herself a cut in the arm making the Hero yelp. He was about to jump into action but notices that his Princess is not screaming, she calmly applies some of the ointment on her wound. The cut immediately stops bleeding and starts closing.
Link lifts his eyebrows amazed "You made that… and I am to believe that you are a not a witch?" He sighs raising a prayer at the sky. Zelda giggles.
"There should still be 2 maybe 3 hours of night time left, more than enough time to kill the bastard" Link says as he tries to take the ointment from Zelda's hand but she doesn't let go of it, causing him to start growling.
Zelda closes her eyes to speak avoiding been intimidated by his deep gaze "I can't just give it to you; it's the only leverage I have. I want to accompany you when you fight the Hinox"
Link opens his eyes wide and shakes his head "I can't allow that, what if…"
"I don't want to fight it; I just want to watch and be there to heal you with my ointment if you need it… and I could also take the picture of you making a victory pose on top of the monster's carcass" she smiles sweetly.
LINK POV
The Hero closes his eyes and breaths in deeply lowering his head. He then looks at her over his forehead.
"You have to stay hidden, away from the fighting area. No laughing, no cheering, no chants, no screams if I get hit, no taunts-"
Zelda raises her palm to silence him "In other words, I remain hidden in the forest watching, and I should avoid making sounds that would give away my presence"
Link groans loudly "Damn right girl… I am still going to finish my list of synonyms of what not to do"
Zelda just stares at him and starts smiling "This new side of you kind of reminds me of Zidane"
"Of course it does, he is the expert on surviving alone without losing you shit, I asked him for some pointers… you are currently staring at ZID 2.0" Link turns to his left and stares at an imaginary camera "And for anyone who still cares, the list continues as: No heckles, no jeers, no blurts, no outcries… damn, can't think of more synonyms, I must be tired"
Link then requests the Princess's hand. Zelda extends hers expecting to receive the Picto Box. But Ziel grabs her hand and pulls her in to himself twirling her. Zelda is caught off guard by this and starts to fall, but Ziel puts his right hand on her back and presses her against him firmly stabilizing her.
"Tsk tsk. Damn Princess, you are 15, almost 16, right? we are going to start having a lot of Balls in the castle, yet you have two left feet" Link lets go of his Princess and draws the Picto Box from his trousers and hands it to her.
Zelda groans "I know… but I don't like dancing, and Derrick says that I don't need to learn. That I am pretty and smart, that should be enough. By the way, when did you store the Picto Box in your pants?"
"When you weren't looking obviously" Ziel answers bluntly.
"So, Zid not only taught you how to behave like a lunatic, he also thought you how to steal?"
No, I already knew how to do that. So does Li actually… maybe we wrongfully sided with pure and lawful Nayru. We should have sided powerful and head strong Din, Ganandorf would have welcomed me and my particular set of skills with open arms. I would have considered the Gerudo my sisters.
*stop daydreaming, it is what it is*
The Hero rolls his eyes with a smirk "Like I needed to be taught how to do that" he wiggles the ointment he had pulled out of her pants without her noticing.
Zelda stares at the ointment, her eyes start opening wide as she begins tapping around her trousers searching for it. After a while, she narrows her eyes at Link as she takes the ointment back. The Prince just chuckles.
"Stealing from a woman… from a Princess is not very gentlemanly" Zelda states
"Good thing that I have never claimed to be a gentleman… We have had this discussion before, haven't we? Anyway, let's go before I lose my date." Link approaches the area where the cooking pot was and grabs the jelly he left there. The close contact it had with the fire should have activated its explosive nature. After picking up the explosive, he walked away whistling.
Zelda followed smiling and asked "Why the hurry? Is he that gorgeous that you can't keep away or something?" she jokes.
Link sighs heavily, faking to be in love "You have no idea… he is a towering slab of muscle and blue skin that stretches tight over his bulging limbs. Every step he takes causes the earth to groan and my heart to tremble, and that monstrous beautiful eye" he ends smirking.
"Sounds like quite a catch, I think I may be getting jealous" she giggles.
"You won't be once I am done with him" then Hero stops his advance "You will not go any further than this; the battle area is going to be that field ahead. Find a place where you can watch safely and stay quiet" Link says as he slowly walks ahead, sword already in his left hand.
*Isn't she still too close? *
She will be fine, as long as she doesn't make even a peep.
The Hero slowly approached the sleeping monster. No shield, no bow, just an old steel sword, sword that he spun around to warm his wrist for the battle. He picked up a big rock and threw it at the Hinox' sleeping head.
The Blue giant let out a bone-rattling roar. It stood up searching for his attacker, once he saw Link it charged, its feet pounding the ground like drums of war. Link ran, but not away, he ran towards the one-eyed titan.
At the last second, he slid under the beast's stomping foot, rolled, and slashed at its ankle.
There, I still believe I can win this fight easily, but if life has taught me something is that you can never be too cautious.
*So, you being cautious means…*
That I attack one of his ankles in order to obstruct or slow down his displacement ability, further increasing my success rate.
A streak of blood followed producing a thundering roar of pain from the Hinox. Then the giant turned enraged, swiping with one of his massive hands. The Hero was able to jump out of the strike.
As the Hinox bellowed and stomped, Link pulled the Red Chuchu Jelly and threw it at the monster's chest.
Boom!!!!!
The explosion knocked the Hinox back, fire licking across its shoulder. It shrieked, staggering in a blind rage. But Raziel didn't stop there; he was already leaping on top of the colossus. Then, in a fluid motion, he jumped on the monster's face and brought down his blade into the beast's eye. The Hinox howled, the sound was so loud that it shook birds loose from the treetops… then the blue giant collapsed with a thunderous crash.
Smoke curled from the still-glowing jelly burn on its chest. The Hero remained stoic, still standing on the Hinox, breath ragged and blade dripping blood. He wiped the sweat from his brow and looked at the tree line where he left his favorite Princess.
*There she is… is she alright? Pale is not the healthiest look*
As the Princess approached, the sound of her laughter was heard, putting the Hero at ease.
She is fine; maybe it was just the shock of seeing me fight this titanic blue demon.
The Princess positions herself a distance away from the carcass and points the Picto Box at Link, but then slowly lowers it.
"Ziel, can we make this a happy picture?"
Link roars in maniac laughter, Zelda was not sure if she should laugh along or run away.
*You sound a little demented*
Maybe I am.
*True, but conceal it a little, you are scaring her*
He Hero settles down and smiles "What do you want me to do?" Link asks.
The Princess stutters a little "You could start with displaying a smile with a thumbs up… NO, FORGET THAT. I want you holding the sword up at the sky victoriously. I want a picture that my dad can use to brag about"
Link tilts his head and smiles "For my King… I have an idea. Let's make it a sibling picture. Take a picture where you appear the foreground of the frame, and I appear in the background with my boyfriend"
Zelda smiles at the idea, and turns to snap the Picture. Once Zelda takes the picture, she calls for Link to look at it. So, the Hero climbs down from the Hinox' corpse.
"Look" Zelda shows him the picture she took "I think I like it"
The picture displayed the upper right quadrant of Zelda's face, behind her you see Link standing victorious on top of the Hinox'. His tunic was blood stained; but his left hand still gripped the sword tightly as he raised it up at the night sky. Yet, he was staring down at the monster ominously as he held his right fist to his chest.
"Your face is not complete, is that ok? we can take another, he won't mind" Link asks Zelda.
"WHAT? NO… it's obvious that eye belongs to me, and I managed to capture a big part of the Hinox in the shot with you on it giving off an ominous vive. Dad will love this"
Link chuckles "If that is what you think… lets go back to sleep the few minutes we have left, I am going to need my energy for hunting tomorrow"
Zelda nods, but then sighs "And you really didn't need my ointment… why did I even take the time to make it?"
*Haven't used it YET (laughs nightmarishly)*
Link got goose bumps hearing the voice say that and took it as an omen.
"Don't throw it away, it's a well-made ointment, I may need it later"
