Chapter 1269 - The Bright, The Rotten

Thomas was a man of deep conviction, but he did not bear any holy affiliation. He did not worship any particular god. His belief led not in the divine, but in the holy–At least, that is how he would describe what he believed in, even if few would be able to grasp exactly what he meant with his words… It did not matter. Crusader Thomas was not one to speak much. There was no need for him to preach, for he did not seek companionship from people who believed in the same things as him.

He had understood at an early age that it was a pointless endeavour in this wide, wild world that he had found himself in… His great helm had first been forged by his own hands, hallowed by his own will. The same was true of his greatsword and armour. His white surcoat was decorated with a grey cross that represented nothing.
