The dinner at Old Yang's house was especially lavish.
That lamb, seven or eight months old, right at the best age for eating, was taken by the chef and made into everything from yellow-braised lamb to roast ribs to hand-held lamb—he did the whole set!
To ensure the perfect flavor, he tried to use the Song Family's ingredients for everything. If they didn't have something, he'd rather just do a clear stew.
Then there were the chickens, the ducks… hey!
They really couldn't eat any more!
The couple made all sorts of trade-offs before finally deciding to only do lamb, with a few other dishes on the side.
But for Song Tan and Lun Chuan, any chef who could be kept on long-term by Old Yang's house was obviously going to be extra delicious!
The chef's skills really were on par with Seventh Uncle's, not a bit worse, and he had both fine dining and homestyle dishes completely under control.
