Chapter 145 - Li Gang XII - Hidden Arrangements of the God Realm

Li Gang's plan was quite apparent in the Immortals' eyes.

Li Gang believed his thoughts were being monitored, so he started scheming through subconscious decisions.

The way he kept his thoughts active all the time acted as a distraction. His 'enemy' could only read what he was actively thinking, and in this way, he could deceive them by thinking through his passive thoughts.

This decision did give him some advantage.

Because of this, it prevented Emperors from reading his thoughts by decrypting Mental Radiations.

Immortals saw Li Gang's actions as child's play. All his little tricks were completely exposed in front of Immortal Zhu.

Immortals could see that Li Gang's actions had always been meant to be against Emperors, while unknowingly, they also included Immortals.

Jiang Fugui narrowed his eyes. "There should be one more thing."

Li Gang broke into a sweat but still took out the token. "He gifted this token to me. I thought it was his inheritance to me, since I didn't choose any of his techniques."

His nervousness was a pretense he showed to Jiang Fugui.

Jiang Fugui was surprised. "You mean he only gave this token to you and not any Secret Techniques?"

Li Gang said pitifully, "He saw my low talent and didn't give me any Secret Techniques, only this token to protect my life. In fact, I also won a million spirit stones in the inheritance and used all of them to fill up this token."

Jiang Fugui looked at the token and nodded. 'This token does have sufficient energy.'

Jiang Fugui looked at Li Gang and said, "This token is meant for the Holy Son of our Sword Gate. Our sect declined after the ancestor left. It was attacked by the Harmony Fang Sect, but under the previous Sect Leader, it has started rising again. However, the safety of the Holy Son has faced issues. This token was meant to protect the Holy Son."

He paused and then continued, "I can give you a chance. If you can defeat the Holy Son within fifty years, you can replace his position and have this token in your possession."

Jiang Fugui deliberately hesitated.

It should be noted that Rank 8 Warriors are smart enough to figure out that their thoughts are being monitored by Immortals, especially when Jiang Fugui often receives benefits from Immortals.

Most of the giants in the cultivation world—be it the Celestial Sect, Sword Gate, Ethereal Sect, or even the Golden Crow Dynasty—have direct dealings with Immortals.

Immortals give them benefits and let them work for them.

But isn't it better to just control all of them?

It is not. Because that would invite a united revolt against them. Immortals do not want revolt. Once all Rank 8 Warriors gather together to revolt, they would eventually figure out the weaknesses in controlling them.

They might turn into sages, and follow a strict righteous path just to increase their bottom line. They would start teaching every generation to become righteous, and this would severely restrict Immortals' control over every future generation.

Immortals had always tried not to control Rank 8 Warriors by directly changing their thoughts. They were smart enough to see through such actions and figure out how to resist them or identify their weaknesses. Of course, on a smaller scale, it may not seem plausible. However, time changes everything. In the vast expanse of time, what is not possible?

This was the major reason why Immortals always controlled the leaders of each giant in the cultivation world through benefits.

Despite taking such precautions, the fact that they could read minds had been leaked and was known to almost every leader of the top factions in the world. And who leaked it?

Obviously, He Fan.

Because of He Fan's actions, most Rank 8 Warriors and some Rank 7 Warriors escaped the control of Immortals. Their thoughts could no longer be drastically changed because of their high bottom line. They instinctively resisted the lack of freedom and privacy.

However, they only escaped control in the sense that their thoughts could not be forcibly altered. Immortals could still slowly and subtly influence their emotions and make them vile before regaining control over them.

Li Gang looked at Jiang Fugui and asked, "What is the cultivation of the Holy Son and his age?"

Jiang Fugui replied, "He is the son of the Great Elder, and his name is Ji Shenlong. He is only 170 years old and has already reached Rank 6 late-stage Warrior. His soul cultivation has reached Rank 6 peak stage, and he can defeat enemies at Rank 6 peak stage."

Li Gang sucked in a cold breath. He said, "How about this: let me have this token for ten years, and I will defeat the Holy Son within ten years. If I fail, you can take it back."

Jiang Fugui looked at him deeply and asked, "What would happen if you escaped with this token?"

What Li Gang did not know at this point was that Jiang Fugui could not take away the token even if he wished to.

Li Gang said, "You have already marked me, and you are still asking what would happen?"

Jiang Fugui looked at him and laughed loudly. "This is the first time I have seen such a daring person. Despite your low talent, your confidence is incredible. Since you know I marked you, then you should also be aware that I can see what you are doing even if you leave for another continent through that mark. Not only that, I can also sense the presence of the token, no matter where you hide it."

Li Gang nodded. "I knew it a long time ago."

Jiang Fugui looked at Li Gang deeply and said, "Fine, I will give you this chance. You will become an outer disciple of the sect, and you must become Holy Son within ten years. I don't care how you use this token, but don't try anything funny."

Jiang Fugui had no intention of taking away the Spatial Order. He was merely making an excuse to 'reasonably' hand it over.

Li Gang suspected something was odd and even assumed that Jiang Fugui might also be under the control of this 'Hidden Enemy'.

Li Gang temporarily joined Sword Gate and became an outer disciple.

He silently cultivated there for a few months.

18th August, Year 42022 of the Elemental Era

Li Gang contemplated his cultivation.

'Rank 3 middle stage. I didn't expect cultivating the Arcane Fusion Method and Divine Serenity Technique to have such a unique effect. My soul cultivation has dropped to Rank 4 peak stage. If this continues, I will reach Rank 4 early stage by the end of this year. But my potential will also be exhausted after that. I may not be able to improve even if I try for another hundred years. It's good that I utilized the Soul Spring as much as I could.'

He washed up and set off. His next destination was the Scripture Pavilion to obtain some important Secret Techniques. Now that he was part of Sword Gate, it would be foolish not to make use of their resources. He had already learned flying sword techniques, so he took out his sword and set off.

After selecting a few scrolls that he felt were important for his cultivation and battle strength, he registered them at the counter and left.

As he was moving, he noticed a young man arguing with a woman.

"What do you mean, Zhou Yuerong?"

"Exactly what you heard. I am with Young Master Yan now. I hope you recognize reality and annul our marriage contract. I advise you, Lin Fan, not to overestimate yourself."

The man named Lin Fan was average-looking, but his eyes suddenly turned sharp. Lin Fan was a Rank 2 early-stage Warrior. In a battle three years ago, he had been injured and had made no progress since. He was only sixteen years old. He looked at her as if she were a clown and said,

"You better remember what you said."

With that, he took out a paper, wrote a divorce letter, and threw it at her face.

"You—" Zhou Yuerong was furious, but Lin Fan left without caring.

Li Gang looked at Lin Fan and followed him silently. After reaching a certain place, Lin Fan stopped.

He looked around to make sure no one was there, then smirked. "This emperor is still alive?"

He sensed a small tower within his body. 'Did this tower help me reincarnate? I found it in the forbidden land, the Graveyard of Immortals. I never thought it had this function. I tried all methods and couldn't even refine it, yet it chose me as its master!'

He gritted his teeth and said, "Wang Xueyao, that b*tch, just wait. You schemed against me, controlling all those Immortals to attack me. I will ascend and kill you sooner or later."

Lin Fan belonged to the God Race from the God Realm.

Now, as a former Immortal, was Lin Fan not aware that small worlds like this were monitored by other Immortals?

How could he not be aware? Then why was he exposing himself like this? Why would he speak so loudly about secrets that should never be spoken? Was he foolish?

How could a former Immortal be foolish?

In fact, he had reincarnated into this world only a few months ago. He visited several inns and 'accidentally' gathered information about the current situation.

He also learned that someone had been personally brought to the Sect Leader of Sword Gate, Jiang Fugui.

He even sneaked into the nearby region on the day Li Gang was invited and 'accidentally' saw Li Gang returning from Jiang Fugui's abode.

Lin Fan could also use Abstract Thinking.

His inner thoughts were for Immortals, while his words were meant for Li Gang to hear. Unfortunately, what he did not know was that his own memories and thoughts were encrypted by the tower inside him. Immortals could not hear him at all.

He wanted to use Li Gang as an important tool.

It should be noted that Lin Fan was an arrangement made by Wang Xueyao.

Wang Xueyao knew how intelligent Creator was, and thus needed to confirm whether Li Gang truly was 'him'.

How to confirm?

It was simple.

Let Li Gang absorb all of Lin Fan's memories. If he could fully absorb them without dying, and at the same time refrain from actually processing those memories, the chances of him being Creator would increase.

Creator possessed unrivaled intelligence. Any normal Warrior, when exposed to such an amount of information containing higher-dimensional attributes, would die instantly.

Even if Li Gang were exceptional, once he absorbed these memories, he would instinctively process them. But that was something Creator would never do.

He did not need such help. He was smart enough to deal with Immortals single-handedly.

But if he did not need them, why would Creator try to absorb Lin Fan's memories in the first place? Wouldn't Wang Xueyao's plan fail the moment he refused?

No. Because that too would expose his identity.

What did Li Gang lack the most? Information about this world. The moment he possessed such information yet refused to accept it, it would prove that he had planned everything in advance and did not need them. This would raise suspicion and make Immortals more wary.

If Li Gang were Creator, he would never want this.

Because the first identity Immortals would suspect would not be Creator—it would be the Timeless Demon God.

This was the worst-case scenario for Immortals.

Li Gang was a Wanderer, and so was the Timeless Demon God. The connection was obvious.

The moment Li Gang's identity was confirmed as the Timeless Demon God, Immortals would retaliate with far greater seriousness than they had so far.
