Chapter 34 - Ch 35 recuperation

Arthur and Damien slept side by side in the infirmary. Nova and Oliver were teaching martial arts to Magnum and warden..

Brendon and vor walked into the cafeteria . The Cafeteria was first wrestling and all the papers by chatting as soon as vor and Brendon came in the mode of the room suddenly changed now all the eyes were on them . " Vor really can't believe it Arthur lost for the first time ", said Branden ." But when did Damein get so strong ", asked vor. "I think he was always such strong but was hiding it ", said Branden .

The warm sunlight streaming through the window cast a gentle glow over the infirmary, where Arthur and Damian lay side by side, their injuries slowly healing. The soft beeping of the medical equipment and the hushed conversations of the nurses created a soothing atmosphere, a stark contrast to the intense battle they had fought just hours before. The scent of disinfectant and fresh linens filled the air, mingling with the faint hint of sweat and exertion that still cl clamed to their skin. As they rested, they couldn't help but think about the fight, their minds racing with what-ifs and maybes. The air was thick with unspoken questions and unmet expectations, each of them replaying the battle in their minds, analyzing every move, every decision.

"Hey," Arthur broke the silence, his voice low and raspy, as if testing the waters.

"Hey," Damian replied, turning his head towards Arthur, a hint of a smile on his face, his eyes cricrling at the corners. "You alive?"

They exchanged a look, and for a moment, their rivalry was forgotten. The tension between them dissipated, replaced by a sense of mutual respect and admiration. It was as if they had reached a turning point, a moment of clarity that allowed them to see each other in a different light.

"You're a tough opponent," Arthur said, his eyes narrowing in appreciation, his gaze lingering on Damian's battered form.

"Same to you," Damian replied, his voice laced with sincerity, his eyes flashing with a hint of amusement.

Their conversation was interrupted by the sound of clashing swords and grunts of exertion coming from the training room. The rest of the team was hard at work, training and honing their skills. Brendan and Magnum were sparring with Noah and Oliver, their movements swift and precise, their footsteps echoing off the walls. Vor and Warden watched from the sidelines, their faces set in concentration, their eyes tracking every move.

As the day drew to a close, the team gathered in the cafeteria, chatting and laughing as they collected food for Arthur and Damian. The aroma of roasting meats and fresh vegetables wafted through the air, making their stomachs rumble with hunger.

Vor and Warden walked in, their heads held high, but the atmosphere in the cafeteria changed. The other students whispered to each other, stealing glances at the two. Samantha, the girl who had proposed to Vor and been rejected, sat at a table, her eyes fixed on Vor with a mixture of anger and hurt. Vor caught her gaze, and for a moment, they locked eyes, the tension between them palpable.

Warden noticed the exchange and nudged Vor, his voice low. "Hey, ignore her. She's just bitter."

Vor shrugged, his expression neutral. "I'm used to it."

As they collected the food, the team fell into an easy silence, their movements synchronized. They brought the food to Arthur and Damian, who were now sitting up in bed, looking much better.

Just as they were about to dig in, Captain Leo and Captain Nox walked into the room, their faces serious. The team's eyes turned to them, their expressions expectant.

"How are you two doing?" Captain Leo asked, his voice firm but gentle, as he surveyed the room, taking in the scene before him.

"We're fine, sir," Arthur replied, his voice a little stronger now, his eyes meeting Captain Leo's.

Captain Nox nodded, his eyes scanning the room. "Good. We've been watching your progress. You're both... interesting."

Damian raised an eyebrow, a hint of amusement on his face. "Interesting, sir?"

Captain Leo smiled, his eyes cr crling at the corners. "Yes. You two have a lot of potential. We're going to push you hard, see what you're capable of."

The team exchanged a look, their faces set with determination. They were ready for whatever came next.

As the captains left, the team dug into their food, chatting and laughing as they ate. The food was delicious, a welcome respite from the intensity of their battles.

As they ate, Arthur turned to Damian. "So, what's the deal with you? You're always one step ahead."

Damian smiled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Just lucky, I guess."

The team laughed, but Arthur's eyes narrowed, sensing there was more to Damian's story.

The evening drew to a close, and the team bid each other goodnight, their faces tired but content.

As they settled in for the night, Arthur turned to Damian once more. "You know, I think we're just getting started."

Damian smiled, his eyes glinting with anticipation. "I'm looking forward to it."

The darkness fell, and the team slept, their dreams filled with visions of battles to come.
