Zhane didn't need to issue direct commands; a glance or a slight pause was enough for his assistant to grasp the situation and act accordingly.
Now, all Zhane needed to do was wait.
His subordinates were still downstairs, and once they finished their task, it would only be a matter of time before they came back up to support him. Judging by the current situation, it was far more likely that his own reinforcements would arrive first rather than those of the men blocking his path. And with that in mind, there was no reason for him to show even the slightest hint of concern.
"What, cat got your tongue? So scared you can't even speak?" the thug sneered, a smirk tugging at his lips as he stared straight at Zhane, clearly trying to provoke a reaction.
His gaze was sharp and probing, as if he were measuring Zhane's confidence, waiting to see whether he would show hesitation, anger, or fear, anything that might reveal who truly held the upper hand.
