Old Nexus's voice was low but steady. He turned and gestured for Apollo to move.
Apollo nodded lightly and followed him through the vast auditorium. As they walked, he could feel countless gazes brushing past him—some curious, some sharp, some carrying faint hostility, others quiet scrutiny.
None of them underestimated him.
Nexus stopped at a seat positioned not at the outer edge nor near the absolute centre, but in a region that clearly held significance—close enough to the core to be involved in decisions, yet distant enough to acknowledge hierarchy.
"This is your place," Nexus said calmly.
