Karl arrived at the Clan's school ten minutes before the students finished their final class of the day, and found himself among a large group of waiting parents, including the members of the PTA, who were keeping a clear distance from him.
"You have children in the school? You seem quite young." One of the mothers noted.
"In a way. They are magical beasts, not my biological children. But it's Leo's first day at school, and I want to know how he likes it.
Being at school full-time will be a big change for him, but he's growing up fast, so it's time that he learned to socialize with other children, and not with his Sisters."
"Sisters? How many beasts do you have with you?"
"Well, there is Lady Rae, and Remi the Alchemist Naga Matriarch, and Hawk, and Tian, and Cara and Leo. Those are the only ones likely to be seen around town. Unless you count Opal, who is a bit of a homebody."
From his shoulder, Opal giggled. Indeed, she rarely came out as a butterfly.
