Hearing that, Mark Reed frowned slightly.
Turstin Muller's wife?
He gave Valentine Teller another once-over. "Never seen you."
A strange face, one that had never appeared in his memory.
"Oh." Valentine let out a disappointed sigh.
She couldn't figure out why Mark felt familiar to her, yet he didn't know her at all.
Valentine focused on her magazine and stopped talking.
Mark was also working intently, stealing glances at her from time to time.
This woman gave him a feeling he couldn't put into words.
Like a familiar stranger.
Mark searched his brain for a long time but still couldn't find any memory of her.
The plane landed in Rivile City, and Mark got off first.
Only then did Valentine's taut nerves relax.
She let out a long breath and stood up.
Turstin's people were waiting for her at the exit to drive her home.
After another hour and a half in the car, Valentine finally got home.
She was completely exhausted.
She took a shower and went straight to bed.
