Valentine Teller stared blankly at Mother Reed, and after a while, she found her voice: "Auntie, do you always live here?"
"I do live here, do you have a problem with that?" Mother Reed glared at Valentine with displeasure.
In her view, a woman like Valentine was nothing but trouble, a vixen.
She couldn't play with real feelings.
Valentine said with bitterness, "I want to see Mark, can I see Mark?"
Though it had only been a few days apart, to Valentine it felt like years of torment.
She missed Mark Reed too much, he was even in her dreams.
"Mark doesn't live here!" Mother Reed said unkindly, "And I advise you to stop, don't disturb us anymore, you're not worthy of Mark at all. I don't know what kind of enchantment you've cast on him, making him want to be with you at all costs. Hmph, a woman like you isn't even worthy to polish his shoes."
Slandered by Mother Reed, Valentine felt very wronged.
