The coffee table in front of him was covered with various documents, and the Crystal Ashtray was full of cigarette butts.
"What's up, smoking so much?" Valentine Teller headed into the kitchen to put the dishes away, and when she came back out, Mark Reed still didn't say a word, his brow furrowed.
Under Valentine's gaze, Mark managed to force a faint smile, "Nothing."
"Seeing you smile so reluctantly, don't try to fool me. If it's work-related, I can't help, but I can only advise you not to rush; there'll always be a solution. If it's a relationship issue, I'm even less help, but I suggest you leave it to fate. What's meant to be will be, and what isn't won't be forced."
After saying this, Valentine went back into the kitchen, planning to make a plate of boiled shrimp as a snack for Mark while the shrimp were still fresh.
