In the real world, only a person with grade-2 or above-level mana detection is capable of seeing through this illusion, and others end up losing their way easily.
This is also one of the main reasons why this place has the name 'Wailing Hills,' as you hear the 'wails' of those who are lost in this illusion and are cursed to wander this place until death.
