Operation on-going: She's nearby. I must wait longer.
"Yuchi, are you awake?"
It came. It came. The feared situation. Even with my eyes closed, I could tell an alarming presence nearby. To avoid danger. My computer in my brain came up with an answer.
Conclusion...pretend not to have heard anything. I call this strategy 'Pretend Unconscious'. My predicament will be solved by it
Possible patterns might be "Oh! You are sleeping. I mustn't disturb you. " With this flawless strategy, I'm the winner here.
"Aren't you cute trying to hide it?"
Huh! I didn't expect it to fail. My emotions can't be controlled. I'm smirking. I suppose Operation 'Overnight gaming' is suspended for now.
"Could you give me your phone?"
Yes! Of Course, I can't hide my emotions in front of my mom. My mom is the only individual to whom I show my emotions. Normally I show no emotions and have given a nickname of Poker Face or Depressed King.
"Fine, Mom, take it."
I gave the phone to my mom with an unacceptable defeat. That was something. I couldn't control myself from smirking.
"Get sleep. Tomorrow is the first day of school."
As you might guess, from tomorrow onwards I will be attending school. Vacations are over.
I slept. The next day while I was wearing my uniform for school. I noticed a message from the news application.
It was concluded that from now on, students of grade Nine will be attending a new system policy for education by the government. It states that only two schools have accepted it, and... they are what? Our school accepted it.
I don't want to be in government experiments or something. Oh well, what could we do? There is nothing we can do..
While I was despairing about the fact that I had to go to school, I was hit by another fact. This turns out to be the best situation I have. I told my mom that I was scared and feeling sick. I was acting like crying to get Mom's sympathy but it didn't go as plan
With nothing to say, I went to the bus station nearby. I waited and the bus arrived. I sat on the bus. I saw a woman with black hair, and gorgeous brown eyes like mine. She was giving sit to young ones. With a friendly vibe, She asked me
"Hey!... Aren't we from the same grade"
"Same grade? What's your name?"
"Hello my name is Manabu"
Seems she is from another school. Why is she approaching me? Everybody has an ulterior motive in mind.
But.. I must introduce the name. It would be rude as I want to have a normal life.
"And I'm Yuchi"
We greeted each other and I got off of bus. The School was right in front of me. I went to school. There was nothing special. I thought the media were bluffing, but they weren't. A half-hour later, we were announced to meet at Hall.
In the hall. Principal spoke
"From now onwards, you are going to participate in the new policy given by the government."
keeps talking...
"And another thing you are not allowed to leave the facility. Unless you are expelled from the facility. "
Everyone was shocked. Someone shouted, "What if I don't want to participate in this silly game of yours?"
"If anyone is expelled or isn't participating, they will be degraded to 6."
"You will lose the chance to get a 100% employment rate."
Everybody chattered about a 100% employment rate. While I was listening to it carefully a poker face
They aren't giving us an option, are they? They think we will be fooled by this. Chattering everyone thinks that they are at least given an option. Someone from the crowd "They are giving us an option. Everybody let's participate together". His name is Kawasaki.
Everyone agrees after Kawasaki, shouting "We will be together". I didn't realize he had this kind of network.
"Interesting!!"
While saying that I analyzed the situation and thought it would be a fun training for myself, and at that I also participated.
I know that the upcoming year will be unique and unpredictable. We don't know what kind of program is conducted there.
It's like we are being enslaved for no reason for their gratification and experiment.
From now on, my unique school life begins with many difficulties awaiting me.
