He was able to feel it—his own energy flowing through his veins alongside hers.
It finally made it outside. His own energy.
And there it was. Between the two of them, a small floating flame hovered in the air.
"Looks like your prime element is fire."
"Yeah… looks like it is…."

"Avner, I already told you. I can't train you."
"But why not?"
"I still have work to do. I haven't caught the serial killer yet."
"It's not like you're going to catch him in the few minutes you're with me."
Avner tried to convince Miyeon to help him with his training.
"Do you even realize what you're saying right now? Do you even know how many people have died?"
"Oh, come on. It's not like they were good people to begin with, and they're already dead. They won't come back to life if you leave now. I'm still alive, so help me."
Miyeon couldn't help but sigh at his cousin's ignorance.
"Why isn't Nephthys helping you? Isn't she your master?"
"Well…"
Avner found it hard to face Nephthys now that he knew how he felt about her.
"I can't believe this… she resigned, didn't she?"
And right after saying that, Miyeon started smacking Avner.
"Auw, auw, auw!"
Avner could only cry out in pain.
"Why are you smacking me?!"
"What did you do? Huh? What did you do that made her leave?"
Miyeon never stopped smacking Avner.
"Do you even know how lucky you were to find a master who was actually able to help you?"
And he kept smacking.
"Auw, auw, auw, auw!"
Avner then decided to escape his cousin's grip by stepping back, but Miyeon wasn't going to let it end there. He stepped forward, trying to reach Avner for another beating.
"Wait! Wait!"
Avner tried to calm him down.
Miyeon already had his hand in the air, ready to smack him again, but then Avner added as fast as he could—
"SHE DIDN'T RESIGN!"
"She is still here."
Miyeon pinched the bridge of his nose with his index finger and thumb in frustration.
"Sigh… you are the reason I'll die young."
"If she didn't resign, then why are you here?"
"..."
Avner couldn't respond to that.
"AY!"
Seeing that he couldn't give a coherent answer, Miyeon felt his blood pressure rising again. He raised his hand once more.
"Alright, alright. I'll leave you alone."
Seeing him angry again, Avner decided to leave.

"Wow, how did you know I was craving chocolate?"
"Of course I knew what my favorite cousin wanted."
"Really? I'm your favorite?"
Avner put his arm around his shoulder, smiling brightly.
"Of course. You know, I feel like we were twins in our past lives."
"Twins?"
"Uh-huh. It's like our telepathy stayed with us even after we died and were born again. I can feel when you're sad, or when you're happy, or when you're hungry."
"Woah, really?"
"Of course. Hm, let me show you."
Avner took his arm off his shoulder so he could face him properly, then placed his index and middle fingers against the sides of his forehead, as if trying to read his mind.
"Hmmm… right now… you… are hungry."
"Wow."
Amabilis looked very impressed.
"And you really want to eat the chocolate I brought you."
"Wow, incredible."
"HAHAH."
Funny—it really was a lot of fun seeing his cousin fall for it.
Avner and Amabilis then sat down so Amabilis could enjoy his chocolate.
"Woah, it's really delicious. Where did you buy it?"
"Haha, I'm glad you like it."
"Cough, cough."
Avner cleared his throat before finally saying what he had wanted to say all along.
"So, cousin. My favorite cousin."
He put emphasis on `my` which made Amabilis smile.
"Could you maybe help me with training today?"
Avner tried to sound nonchalant about it.
"Train? Isn't Nephthys your master?"
"Of course, of course… but you see… she doesn't feel that good today."
"Oh, really? I hope she gets better soon. Maybe I should pay her a visit."
"NO!"
Avner lost his composure for a second.
"Ay, you scared me,"
Amabilis said, placing a hand over his pounding heart.
Avner cleared his throat again, trying to regain his composure.
