On a mountain with lava flowing on its surface, a noticeable concave mark could be seen halfway up. This used to be Mist Castle, but now, only a small part remains. The rest has been vaporized or melted into lava by the Sun Flame.
"Cough cough cough..."
A dry cough echoed from the hollow of the mountain. A witch, charred black all over, lay prone on the ground. Only a small half of her upper body remained, the rest incinerated into ashes by the intense heat.
"This is..., Adelin, Adelin?"
After calling out twice, the woman realized that the nearby hunk of occasionally twitching charcoal was, in fact, the Adelin she was calling.
"Are they... all dead?"
Calming down quickly, the woman pinched her own throat, applying force to snap her neck with a crisp crack. The sheen in her pupils swiftly faded away.
After a few seconds, a white arm emerged from the corpse's spine, pressing onto the ground.
Blood splattered as the woman crawled out of her own body, now completely unscathed.
