Lucifer stood near the foot of the enormous bed, hands in the pockets of his coat, watching his sister with quiet amusement. Coriel had not bothered to sit up. She remained stretched out, one arm flung across the covers, eyes half-lidded in the dim light of her chamber.
"You could have just asked me to handle the noise," Lucifer said. "Instead you scooped an entire army into a cloud and dropped them like naughty children."
Coriel's mouth twitched. "Asking requires effort. This was faster. Besides, your little war was spilling into the wrong places. I was trying to sleep. Hell has been loud enough without winged zealots tearing holes in the sky."
"Hell is always loud."
