Adam's world crumbled before his very eyes.
One moment, he was experiencing love and euphoria. In the next, he was thrust into the pits of despair and terror.
He had been so engrossed in his feelings for Genevieve that he had completely overlooked Valerian's safety.
How could he have left Valerian all by himself? This was unlike him.
What was he even thinking?
There had been so many people at the Rabbit Hole at the time. Many of them were far more powerful and dangerous than Adam. Yet he had left Valerian alone at the table.
He couldn't understand what was going on. How could he have been so stupid?
Adam's figure was a blur. He passed by Leto Morgan, who seemed to be undergoing a sense of crisis by the bar counter. He passed by Hannibal, who stood outside the doors of the tavern, looking around and searching for someone.
Hannibal must have called him out, but Adam did not hear it. At the time, he did not care about anything or anyone.
