Before learning to control the bloodline within, Xuanpu was full of danger to Nandu. It wasn't a distant memory. Until four years ago, when she entered Xuanpu, there was always a risk of losing her life.
Every year, the Eight Horses and Seven Jade rotate into Xuanpu, venturing five miles into its outer rims. They clear the expanding flora inhabited by Evil Beasts, recording their paths and growth trends, often staying in it for several days before they can exit.
Nandu knows that Shi Zanxue always goes much deeper than five miles on her own.
She keeps going inward, never stopping, even if she gets injured or contaminated. She marches toward the Xuanpu Gate, where she sets up camp for a night. She goes deep, and every additional two hours spent is a wager with death.
