She softly call taking few steps forward toward the man in question who glance at her with a surprise expression adjusting his blue tie he boldly smile at her
" Melody longest time it been about eight to nine years now since we last spoke "
He voice out cheerfully

She replied with a paused glancing at the rest of the guest who were busy among themselves then back at him who was currently staring at her

He raised his browns with a smirk to receive laughter
" And i heard you already opened your own law firm with an investment of 100 million dollar worth network "
She calculated with a smile which got him laughing

He teased coolly

Jack rubbing his aching eye's before frowning upon reading the daily report of each cases his hands could reach yet again
after last night incident jack could only sigh in admiration watching Paul who seemed more energetic than the rest of them as he flipped through more reports
" Paul we gone through these reports for the fifth time there's actually nothing interesting about them "
He said totally exhausted rubbing his right elbow from the the long term of sitting before standing

Paul asked his head still down
" To get some fresh air we been locked up here for hours without any lead maybe a little stroll will clear my mind "

" Then just get breakfast while you are at it am quite sure you guys must be hungry so don't be too long "
Paul said hastily his eyes roamed round the empty office then at jack who chuckled like an idiot the moment his credit card landed in his hands

He informed about to step out only to halt the moment his eyes landed on a certain figure who stood straight and tall

Jack exclaimed while saluting his eyes soon fail on Paul who lay calmly on his chair

( David ) He called out angrily only to receive a glanced by Paul who looked extremely exhausted

Paul call out softly his eyes bloodshot red from his lack of sleep
" I assume you're here for what had happened last night ? "
Paul asked casually while standing
" Paul Joan's I been letting you off the hook for a long time but this time you have crossed the line "
He yelled aggressively which startled the rest mostly that of the two new comers who stood at the entrance
" I think it's better we talk calmly "
Paul hummed calmly not intimidated by his presence which anger him the more .
his medal shone reflecting his rake in the field which always got admiration everywhere he goes
but unfortunately not from Paul who glazed at it's goodness with lack of interest

He called yet again catching David off guard ignoring the anxious stare from jack
" So you still recognized me as your chief huh and yet you go around ignoring my orders ? Do you know the damage you have caused after what you did last night ? "
He pointed at Paul who looked down at the floor boards without any sign of regrets or remorse which got the chief more aggregated slamming his boots against the floor boards which crack at his strength

Paul suggested quickly in fear that ( David) the chief stomping his feet yet again and the building collapsing on them .
His eyes scanned through the empty chairs a bit great full the rest were not there to witness such a scene

David hummed softly a bit please seeing the anxious look in his eyes the thought of him pleading with him made him grin in his heart

He accepted passing by the anxious jack who frowned in worry glaring at Paul who waited for David to walked into his small office , before following behind slamming the door shut from within which got jack more but could only stand aside in fear

( David )pointed his eyes on Paul who looked down then back at him who silently was waiting for him to plead with
" Do you actually think keeping silent is going to do you any good not only did you disobey an order, you also put your teammates in dangerous situation and son a commissioner son do you know your offence ? "
He asked Paul who shook his head
" I did nothing wrong sir and besides I was under your orders in protecting the lives of the hostages "
He shifted the blame indirectly to him
" I don't remember giving such orders "
He reflect his words coolly only for Paul to nod showing him it's text
" If this isn't your number then who does it belongs to ? ,"
He mummer to himself but loud enough for David to hear
" You !! Are you threatening me ? "
Paul lips curve into a sneer while glancing at David finger which were pointed at him
" Of course not sir why would I ? "
" Are you by chance doing this for revenge ? "
David asked in a mocking tone before laughing
" Do you actually think such small trick is enough for you to drag me down ? "
He chuckled softly at his words before adjusting his tie coolly
" Paul you shouldn't go too far fabricating evidence can also land you in jail "
He warned with a serious expression like a mentor trying to correct his student
" sir am not that stupid If I wanted revenge I wouldn't wait for this long "
He replied indifferently sliding his phone back into his pocket
" due to your rash actions not only put the hostages life's in danger , got the commissioner son in hospital , you also put your teammates in a tight situation , I think you're smart to understand what am trying to say right ?"
" You want me to resign ? "
He completed his words only for David to nod in approver
" But what if I refuse ? "
He continue only to receive silence from David who then burst out laughing like he heard a sick joke
" Paul you have no choice either you resign silently or you get fire am just making things easy for you by giving you the chance to choose "
He replied feeling please with his threat
" I don't think I be resigning or getting fire any time soon "
He replied indifferently sliding a report from his desk before handing it to David who glared at him strangely

" Those are illegally documents of fake transaction which you have ignored for the past three years "
He informed the already nervous David who stare at front then back at him

He said coolly tossing it back on the table
" with the amount of bribery you have taken from the commissioner himself "
Paul continue showing him a drive which alarm him
" What are you talking about ? What bribery ? "
He asked surprised , his eyes focusing on the small drive
" Unfortunately I came across a very important evidence of your dirty doing "
His lips curved into a smile the moment David grabbed hold of the drive tightly
" Am not that stupid the drive you are holding is nothing but a copy the original one is actually kept somewhere safe far away from here "
Paul murmured lightly to David who grind his teeth in anger

He voiced out in authority only to receive a sneer
" And why should I ? "
" Then what do you want ? "
He asked frustrated by the fact being threatened

He said calmly taking a second glanced at the chief who sneer
" You want me to offer my self as a scapegoat to the higher up you must be crazy "
He snort in disbelief at his demand
" No problem then I will just email this to the higher up am quite sure it won't be a promotion you will be receiving "
He threatened with a sinister smile taking a step forward while turning about to reach the door
" Wow !!! so the saying is truly right after all blood is thicker than water "
He laughed while rubbing his temple
" No you are wrong I may be my father son but am nothing like him so you shouldn't see me as him cause am not going to die so easily as him "
He said calmly his words form but his eyes dim with pain
" Just focus on how to save my job nothing else matters if you succeed I will pass it to you "
He said with a smirk
" Are you forgotten about your sister "
He said which halt Paul who glanced at him with a mocking smile
" What happens to her is not my business after all she is your daughter in law and a stranger to me then why speak of someone who have no place in my life "
He replied with deep hatred before squeezing the knob and walking out which aroused David anger as he slammed the table angrily .

( The Hospital Parking lot )
Moses managed to calm his shaking hands squeezing the files out of rage his head ringing and his throat sour as he tap on edge of the window lost in thought the soft but disturbing sounds of snoring was enough to attract him from his rage full anger
" Hey God'stime !!! "
He tapped unto his shoulder to gain his attention which he did
" Wake up !! "
He hissed painfully feeling frustrated
" Ah ! What is it ? "
He asked Moses who frowned upon hearing his words
" judging by the files it's seems like someone is trying to frame us by forging our signature in illegal documents "
He said coolly taking each pages while pointing at each signature
" Yeah !! that's why am here think I didn't notice "
He whispered drowsy
" Mr Bill "
Moses called which spring God'stime from his drowsiness
" Mr Bill what are you saying ? That's impossible "
He said in shock and disbelief
" He's our number one suspect "
Moses rub his forehead from his headache his eyes still on the files on his hands
" Why do you think he's a suspect have you forgotten how much good he has done to help us ? "
God'stime asked Moses who frown gazing at him with a sneer
" I do remember but let me remind you about the documents we had to signed to work here and the other he forced us to sign while we were drunk "
He said harshly which got God'stime to silence
" He indeed help us but he also made me scapegoats for his ploy after all the tax service has been coming recently am quite sure he wouldn't mind framing us for funds embezzlement "
He sighed deeply at his own words remembering the misfortune they had to go through working for Mr Bill .

God'stime stammer at his words unable to understand what Moses just said
" It's just logic no need to think deeper "
Moses assured his friend who nodded in relief
" How many days have you been back to Nigeria ? "
He asked God'stime who frowned sober from the alcohol he had intake few hours ago

He mummered feeling a bit lost himself

" It's a bit strange even to me , all I remember was going back into the hotel while being drunk and falling asleep on the couch but when I woke up I found myself on a plane returning back to Nigeria with all my baggages and stuff "
He said palely just thinking about it, noticing Moses confused but yet suspicious Expression
" And when I was finally back in Nigeria the first person I could think of was you but I couldn't contact you since I didn't understand what was happening around me anymore ,
so I stayed a week at an old motel far from where I lived when I was sure it was safe I came to you straight "
He explained to Moses who took in his words without uttering any word
" But I do promised you are the only person who knows about this I haven't even informed Mr Bill yet and I promise I won't at least for now "
He promised
" That's good I think it's better you don't hide anymore after all am quite sure Mr Bill must be aware of your return and must be waiting for your arrival "
He said coolly taking a glance at God'stime who nodded
" What are we to do about our situation ? "
He asked Moses who understood his words and hidden meaning
" Nothing for now I will have to think of a solution itself but for now I think it's better these fake documents are better off being burned. Before someone assume it being real "
Moses warned only to receive a nod which made him sighed in relief
" I better get going now am quite sure my kid must be missing me "
God'stime smile foolishly at his words but deep down Moses could understand his friend deep emotions after all being a single father was something quite scary at times like this .
" Alright be careful and make sure to cut off alcohol "
He warned with a Stern face
" It's was only a one time so don't worry I won't at least not yet until we know he's trusted ""
" You should also contact Mr Bill judging by his character am quite sure he might be searching for one of his scapegoats "
Moses smirked gazing at God'stime who didn't really desire to be refer in such a way but still nodded .

With that Moses found himself outside with a frown the only thing on him was the small disc drive he kept watching the car drove away silently .
" There you are ! I was starting to wonder where you went "
This sudden voice made him sighed not surprised his eyes glanced at Mia whom hands were crossed and a dead lock gaze on him .
" I was taking a breath of fresh air I hope it wasn't a problem ? "
He replied indifferently to Mia who chuckled .
" Yeah it is a problem because I know there's more to that fresh air of yours but first of all who's in that car ? "
She asked serious with her words
" I remember your duty was protecting me not spying on me "
He laughed at his words only to receive a sneer
" Of course it's my duty to check in every individual who comes two feet close to you which in my option is called ( up close protection ) so pls don't delay time and answer my question "
She sighed with a victory grin

She laughed with rage but soon calm down

Samuel sighed rubbing his jaw even though he didn't subtain any injuries from limping right in front of a car but it did gave half of the passerbys and police officer a fright for life .
" Are you crazy or what ? "
The first asked annoyance written all over his face which Samuel didn't seem to mind after all his attention was on his surrounding .

He had almost sighed in relief but remembering his words made his lips bend
" are you sure you are alright do you still need to go to the hospital ? "

He replied indifferently at the injuries he had , what trouble him was the fact that he was still held back by the few police group themselves neither letting. Him go or taking him to the police station,
he knew the remaining two inside the van wasn't planning anything good which made him sighed in regret if he knew better he would have thrown his self at other vehicle to attract attention .
" It's nothing I just missed my step and lost my balance "
He lied palely only to find a grip on his shoulder
He asked properly noticing among the three officer only one was genuinely concern for him
" We are the police if someone is trying hurt or threatening you pls don't delay and follow us to the station we promised to handle the situation "
He said coolly ignoring the rest of his team behind who roll their eyes not surprised by his involvement with these stranger
" There's no need I just hurt myself there's no need to worry "
He ensure the concerned one with a smile only to receive a mocking sneer from the rest
" Then you won't mind escorting us to the police station for attempted suicide action "
The other fire with a satisfied grin
" Of course I will but not now because I don't have time I still have to bring my grandson to his parents "
He replied truthfully to receive laughter

Samuel assured them with a nod he wasn't in a mood to explain much if that man didn't want to let him go he could simply beg after all someone like Tom was roaming around his family just thinking about it was enough to make him shiver in fear , he could only pray to God for protection on his and family lives

The other waved his hands shooing Samuel who was Surprised but yet relief

At Barnabas school he stood aside holding his school bag ,his eyes roaming round in search of his grandpa which was strange and new .
His grandpa had never made him wait for that long this was actually his first time waiting for someone .
" Barnabas you can join and us I will take you home "
Barnabas shook his head to his friends mother who just smiled in understanding not wanting to force him , she could warn him not to wonder off or speak to strangers before finally driving away .
Even though there were a few students like himself waiting only few decided to stroll home

Barnabas glanced at the new teacher wryly for some unknown reason he didn't feel safe any where close to the man standing in front of him which made him unconsciously tensed .

He exclaimed while running passed his teacher towards his grandpa who picked him up ignoring his weight
