Storytime was over.
Now, the planning began as Voldemort issued his first task. The search for Harry Potter.
"As you all know, there is a prophecy about me and the boy Harry Potter, which our dear friend Severus was able to get for us. Unfortunately, he was not able to hear the whole Prophecy."
The seer Sybill Trelawney told it to Albus Dumbledore at the Hog's Head Pub early in 1980. It referred to a boy who would be born at the end of July 1980, who had the power to defeat Lord Voldemort.
Severus Snape, who at the time was already a Death Eater for Voldemort, was able to eavesdrop on Trelawney and Dumbledore. But halfway through, he was caught by the owner of the Hog's Head and was subsequently thrown out of the pub. Snape then returned to Voldemort to tell him what he had heard.
Voldemort learned that there were two boys who met the requirements of the prophecy. Aside from Harry Potter, the other was Neville Longbottom, who was born on 30 July 1980, to a pair of Aurors who, like James and Lily Potter, had directly defied Voldemort on three separate occasions.
However, Voldemort chose Harry as his target, who was, like himself, a half-blood, rather than the pure-blooded boy named Neville. Voldemort chose Harry as he believed Harry was the most dangerous to him, and he saw himself in Harry before even seeing him.
That was the event that led to the demise of Voldemort.
But with the new memories, he did not just know about the full Prophecy but also knew exactly what happened behind the scenes. He saw how, at that very moment, Snape decided to change sides due to his love for Lily Evans Potter and begged Dumbledore to protect her. Snape even asked Voldemort not to harm her, but unfortunately, the witch put herself in danger when Voldemort tried to kill Harry Potter.
As for the Prophecy, Voldemort recalled it once again.
<
"This time it will be completely different," whispered Voldemort internally.
From the memories, Voldemort saw how he tried to get Harry to go into the Ministry of Magic, more specifically, the Department of Mysteries, where all the Prophecies were kept.
The only people who are permitted to retrieve a prophecy from the Department of Mysteries are those about whom it was made, as the Dark Lord discovered when he attempted to use others to steal it for him.
Now, even though Voldemort had inherited memories and knew about the whole prophecy, he was still going to ask his Death Eaters to search for the prophecy. He wanted to make it seem from the outside that he was still ignorant of the full details.
Next, Voldemort commanded Macnair and Avery on a mission to the giants to get them back on his side.
"Due to being reborn recently, I'm not really back to my full power. My new body will need time to heal. Who knows, maybe some months or even a year. So, I will spend most of the time regaining my strength, and thus, I expect most of you to do your assigned duties with the utmost care. When I'm fully back, I will call you once again, and together, the world will know about my return."
After a few more commands, Voldemort dismissed the gathering, and each Death Eater started to apparate and disappear from Lucius's Mansion. The last one to go was Severus Snape, as he gave a final look at the dark Lord before leaving.
Voldemort looked at the spot where Severus had presented a few seconds ago. "I hope you convey it well to that old fool."
The whole motive of the dark Lord behind gathering all the Death Eaters and telling all these details was, in fact, just for one person. Albus Dumbledore. And the double spy Severus Snape was going to do that job for Lord Voldemort.
As if something was going to happen, Voldemort stayed there still. Then, just in front of Voldemort, someone apparated again. It was a Death Eater that came back.
"Well done, Wormtail. Your timing was perfect. You are proving yourself more and more useful," Voldemort said to the Death Eater who had just come.
Wormtail.
"My lord, it was all thanks to your plan and calculation," Wormtail bowed, expressing his thanks to his Lord. Before coming to Lucius Mansion, Voldemort had instructed Wormtail on his plan to make him take the position of Alastor Moody instead of Barty Jr. Voldemort had explained to him that this was a way to keep the news of Barty Jnr being alive a secret.
With the accurate calculation from Voldemort, Wormtail was able to take the Polyjuice, turning him into Mad Eye Moody, and then the effect turned off just when Voldemort introduced him to the other Death Eaters.
Then Voldemort turned around and walked back inside the Mansion. By his side was Nagini, and behind were two Death Eaters. Lucius, the owner of the land, and Wormtail.
"Come, I have a specific task for you, Lucius." The cold voice of Voldemort disappeared in the night as Voldemort entered the mansion.
----
Far away from the mansion, a person apparated at 12 Grimmauld Place, located in the Borough of Islington, London. That person was none other than Severus Snape.
As soon as Snape approached number twelve, Grimmauld Place, the building appeared to shove its neighbouring houses, number eleven and number thirteen, out of the way as it appeared between them. The house had a worn set of front steps leading to a battered front door. On the door was a silver knocker in the shape of a twisted serpent, but it had no keyhole, handle, or anything else that would indicate it to be a door, as it opened only by magic.
Snape tapped his wand on the door and let a bit of magic out, which resulted in the door opening. Then Snape went inside, and the door closed automatically on its own.
