Valor sat on one side of the bed as he let out a deep breath, calming his heart. Then, in the low-light room, he searched a little for his clothes. Among the scattered clothes, the pants, the coat, and the dress, Valor found his underwear.
Previously, in the heat of the moment, he got undressed quickly and just threw them on the floor.
Valor lowered his hand, grabbed the underwear, and slipped them. As for his pants and coat, he did not bother to grab them but instead glanced back at the bed.
The woman lay half covered by the blanket, sleeping peacefully.
"Janet," Valor called out.
But there was no response, not even a twitch. She was in deep sleep, just as he needed.
Valor rose from the bed and moved across the room until he reached the cupboard at the end of the bed. Among the things kept on top, Valor picked up Janet's phone. Pressing the power up, the lock screen lights up asking for the PIN code.
This was such an easy obstacle for him.
The months of research, the occasional peak whenever Janet unlocked her phone, helped Valor to put the date and month of Janet's birthday, giving him access to it.
First thing, he opened the banking app.
Again, same password.
Within seconds, he initiated a transfer. From her account to a Swiss bank. The loader appeared on the screen, and then the green tick confirmed the transfer.
Valor was not done. Next, he opened the messaging app and searched for Janet's husband's name.
My Love.
Valor almost let out a laugh.
After some searching, he found the topic he was looking for. 'The incident of the man who died'. The case in the court was dismissed without any charge, but the message here told a different story. There were even screenshots and a video of the said incident. Valor grabbed his own phone from the cupboard and then forwarded all this evidence. With that done, he closed the app and placed her phone down.
Then, on his own phone, he opened the camera and pointed toward the bed.
She lay exposed. Valor made sure to capture the clothes on the floor in the picture. The perfect image of vulnerability. The capture occurred without any sound of the flash.
His job was done.
He was satisfying both body and mind. Now it was time to leave.
Glancing one last time at the woman, Valor opened the door and took the stairs until he reached outside, where his car was parked. As he entered, the first thing he noticed was the set of seven books.
The complete series of Harry Potter.
The things one had to do in order to make a woman fall in love.
Janet was married to a wealthy man and, as a result, lived a lavish life. But that was not the only reason he targeted her. Like her husband, she was also one who used power and wealth to escape punishment.
But how to manipulate such a woman to fall in love? That's where Harry Potter came in.
Valor learnt about her hobby for the HP series to the point where Janet was considered a Potterhead. As such, even though Valor did not know a single thing about HP, he invested his time with multiple reads of the collection. He even delves into the other collection, Magical Beast, into fan fiction and different theories on different forums.
With such an arsenal of knowledge, they coincidentally met in one of Janet's favorite restaurants, where Valor was sitting with the books on the table. With such a common hobby, Janet approached Valor on her own, and the course of events was set.
All this plan, all this manipulation was finally coming to an end.
At least his investment in reading these novels was not in vain, as he came to marvel regularly about the wizarding world. Even now, just looking at the book made his mind travel.
But that was for another time.
Right now, he needed to apply the final touch to his plan. Before starting the car, he sent Janet's husband the picture he had just taken. It did not matter if they knew that Valor had used Janet to rob them. After all, they would not want the evidence to go public. He also left them a parting gift. To see if their relationship remains the same after Janet's cheating.
Oh, it felt good manipulating all these events and coming out successful.
The adrenaline, the rush of pleasure.
Sadly, this night was not going to go according to plan.
Valor turned on the engine and, with the rush of adrenaline, he ignored the speed limit and drove like crazy. But as he turned around a corner, a dog was in the middle of the road. At the speed he was going, he could only turn the steering wheel to the left to evade. The dog was safe, but he, on the other side, met another fate. He came face-to-face with a truck coming from the opposite side. It happened so fast, yet everything felt so slow.
The light from the headlights blinded his eyes, and then complete darkness.
...
..
.
Or so he thought. He did not know how much time had elapsed, but he was sure his surroundings were bright even with his eyes closed. As he opened his eyes, he found himself sitting in a white room with no walls.
Something clicked immediately in his mind, thanks to all the fanfiction he had read.
He was dead, and this was going to be the usual troop of reincarnation. Maybe due to his dying with the Harry Potter books around had caused this. Maybe his blood got on the books.
The next second, he heard a very dry, raspy voice. He did not understand the sound, nor could he focus on it, as he found his body breaking apart, and the next second, he found himself floating among clouds.
Valor was sure that for a brief second, he had noticed a hooded dark creature.
But that was for another time. Now he had to focus on where he was.
With such quick analysis skills, Valor found himself approaching a graveyard. The whole thing looked confusing to him until he saw two people get apparated there.
Cedric and Harry.
Valor spontaneously recognized them and recalled the events that were going to happen.
"Wait, in this whole situation, it's Cedric who is going to die. So he is the one I'm going to live as." Valor had indeed seen right that he was meant to possess Cedric's body, but as he saw the other two people, another greedy idea came to his mind.
Wormtail was going to do the ritual for the rebirth of Voldemort, but what if it was Voldemort that he was supposed to get? With the lust for such power, Valor waited for the ritual instead of taking Cedric's body.
As soon as Voldemort's frail body was thrown inside the cauldron, Valdor rushed inside the same cauldron.
Alas, Valdor has miscalculated the situation. Even though Voldemort was going through the reborn ritual, his body already had a soul inside, and it was not just any soul; it belonged to the Dark Lord Voldemort, who had many years of experience in soul magic.
