Chapter 728 - Chapter 728: Fusion (2-in-1 Chapter)

Wonderland Space.

After finishing cultivation with Skirk, the newly purchased quilt needed washing again. Fortunately, Nolan had mastery over Hydro, making the cleaning process extremely convenient.

After that, Nolan and Skirk went to soak in the hot spring baths, washing away the sweat produced by their intense activity.

However, while helping each other clean, they unknowingly ended up clinging together again. It wasn't until Lumine ran over to call them for dinner that the two finally stopped.

At dinner, most people had already returned from work. Nolan continued introducing the girls Skirk hadn't met yet.

Once dinner was over and after a short rest, Nolan once again entered the "Sea Of Quanta."

Winning over girls was important, but improving his own strength couldn't be neglected either.

The World Bubbles he had previously found were still providing him with cultivation progress. His level had already risen to 136, and the progress was still increasing.

It was just much slower now:

Lv.136 (8,365,212 — 500+/46,000,000)

The main reason was that among those World Bubbles, the people who found something like the "Accursed Moon" novel and were willing to accept it had basically already begun cultivating.

The rest were likely still in an observation phase. From understanding the "Accursed Moon" to deciding to cultivate it, they might hesitate for some time.

As a result, the overall speed displayed on the character panel wasn't very fast.

Even so, with five hundred points of progress per second, it only took a little over a day to level up once.

It was safe to say that before everyone in the discovered World Bubbles chose to cultivate the "Accursed Moon Power," he would likely maintain a long-term cultivation progress, amounting to several hundred points per second.

This speed wasn't slow, but if he wanted to raise his level quickly, he still needed to keep pushing forward.

Nolan quickly got moving in the "Sea Of Quanta," beginning his search for the seventh World Bubble.

Thanks to the "Drifter of the Imaginary Sea" specialization, it didn't take long for him to find a new World Bubble.

Upon entering it to explore, he was surprised to discover that this World Bubble contained no life at all—it was a ruined city floating in the cosmos.

Damaged skyscrapers could be seen everywhere. One could imagine that it had once been a fairly developed civilization, only to be reduced to this state by some kind of catastrophe.

Naturally, a place like this was unsuitable for summoning and deploying a "Accursed Moon." With no life present, doing so would be a waste.

However, since there was no life here, it was perfect for fusion experiments with the fourth World Bubble, which also lacked life.

If successful, he could attempt to fuse other World Bubbles as well. That way, a single "Accursed Moon" would suffice, instead of placing one in every World Bubble.

As the coverage area expanded, the efficiency of gaining cultivation progress wouldn't decrease.

Moreover, Nolan currently had no other places suitable for deploying the "Accursed Moon." He could summon over two hundred of them—letting them go unused would be a waste.

Once the fused World Bubble grew large enough, he could summon all the "Accursed Moons" at once, hanging them in the sky like stars to envelop the entire World Bubble.

If there were other places that needed a "Accursed Moon" in the future, he could simply take one from here without affecting anything.

With this in mind, Nolan began using the "Void Star Sea" to bring the two anchored, lifeless World Bubbles closer together.

Because their coordinates had already been anchored, the distance between the two World Bubbles wasn't affected by the special properties of the "Sea Of Quanta."

Even so, the distance between them was still far too great—using direct pulling to bring them together for fusion was unrealistic.

Fortunately, while the internal space of a World Bubble was vast, its manifested form outside in the "Sea Of Quanta" wasn't actually that large.

By opening spatial passages between the two locations using the "Void Star Sea," he could directly transfer them instead.

The specific method was simple: Nolan first left behind a "Lumine Sword God" in the seventh World Bubble.

Then he teleported himself to the fourth World Bubble, and from there controlled the "Lumine Sword God" to open a spatial rift leading into the "Void Star Sea."

Nolan did the same on his side. When the two spatial rifts overlapped, they became like an open door—looking through it, one could see the opposite World Bubble and the "Lumine Sword God."

With this spatial rift, the distance between the two World Bubbles was effectively reduced to less than a meter.

Nolan then began slowly drawing the seventh World Bubble toward the fourth.

World Bubbles were extremely heavy—their weight being the sum total of all matter inside them. Naturally, pulling them by hand would be far too slow and exhausting.

All Nolan needed to do was slightly warp space, forming a gentle slope. The opposite World Bubble would then slowly slide over on its own.

To prevent any accidents, the spatial slope created with the "Void Star Sea" was very mild, probably only one or two degrees.

As a result, it took a full minute for the seventh World Bubble to slide over. When it approached and made contact with the fourth World Bubble,

the two World Bubbles fused together from the point of contact as easily as two soap bubbles merging.

When the fusion was complete and the two became one, Nolan noticed that the new World Bubble hadn't grown noticeably larger—it was roughly the same size as before.

Only the bubble membrane seemed a bit thicker.

When Nolan entered the World Bubble to check the internal changes, he found that the resistance upon entry had increased slightly, likely due to the thickened world membrane.

As for the internal changes, everything seemed fairly normal to him. The actual internal space was simply the combined size of the two World Bubbles.

The original contents of each were floating in the void, one on the left and one on the right, and for now, there didn't seem to be any issues.

The original fourth World Bubble contained an uninhabited planet, while the seventh World Bubble was just a ruined city.

If the two drew any closer, the ruined city might eventually be captured by the planet's gravity and become one of its small satellites.

If more World Bubbles were fused in the future, the contents within them would likely start to influence one another as well.

However, that was something he could intervene in, so it wasn't a major concern.

The important thing was that Nolan had confirmed that World Bubbles could indeed be fused, and that the process itself didn't trigger any special reactions.

With that in mind, he began considering how to fuse the remaining World Bubbles.

Aside from the fourth World Bubble, which was a planet, the others all contained only continents.

They were directly supported by space itself, so they weren't affected by their own gravity and could exist stably within a World Bubble.

That meant Nolan's task was simple—just fuse the World Bubbles together and piece those continents together.

It was merely a matter of adjusting positions. Under normal circumstances, nothing unexpected should happen.

Having already conducted one experiment and confirmed that no problems would arise during fusion, Nolan began merging the other World Bubbles as well.

First came the first and second World Bubbles.

The former had a population of seventy to eighty million, oppressed by those who possessed dragon bloodlines. The latter had over two hundred million people, but more than a dozen nations were engulfed in war.

The fusion process of these two World Bubbles was just as smooth as before. When Nolan entered them and saw the two continents, left and right, still completely intact.

Upon closer observation, it could be seen that the people on the continents hadn't noticed anything at all—in other words, the entire fusion process had caused no disturbance whatsoever.

Seeing this, Nolan was finally able to relax completely. He then used Yoimiya's affection skill, turning gravity into a bowstring and the two continents into arrows, gently drawing them toward one another.

Naturally, the force he applied was extremely small—so small that it wouldn't attract the attention of the people living on the continents. When the two continental plates were about to come together,

Nolan became even more cautious in his control, so as to avoid overly violent collisions that might cause disasters such as earthquakes.

Thinking about it, he still felt a bit worried. Even if the force was light, once two plates made contact, the effects reflected on the surface would still result in noticeable tremors.

After hesitating for a moment, he decided to stop them when there was still about a meter of distance between their closest edges.

This way, the two continental plates wouldn't actually collide, while still allowing people from both sides to travel between them.

Perhaps increased interaction between the two civilizations, with their larger populations, would encourage reproduction and lead to greater population growth in this world bubble.

Considering his "Accursed Moon Power," which came with a kind of "filter" allowing only those with benevolent hearts to cultivate it,

it was highly likely that the strongest individuals at the top of this world bubble in the future would all be people of goodwill.

With that in mind, the probability of large-scale conflict breaking out was quite low.

Thus, in Nolan's view, a growing population and an increasingly prosperous world were the natural trends for future development.

After completing the fusion of the first and second world bubbles, Nolan continued on to merge the third one.

The entire process was just as smooth.

The continental plate inhabited by tens of millions of stone people moved close to the first two plates, followed by the fifth world bubble, home to several million beastfolk.

Then came the sixth world bubble, which likewise housed only a few million three-eyed humans.

Once these world bubbles were fused, Nolan decided to also integrate the new world bubble formed from the fusion of the fourth and seventh.

However, he placed the uninhabited planet far away from the "assembled continent," to prevent any issues arising from gravitational interactions between the continent and the planet.

When everything was finished, a world bubble with a sevenfold-thickened "bubble membrane" was born, yet its outward appearance showed no obvious change.

At this point, the "assembled continent" inside the world bubble had five Accursed Moons in operation, each following different routes.

Logically speaking, for an "assembled continent" with only a little over three hundred million people, this was already more than sufficient.

But since the other Accursed Moons would otherwise sit idle, Nolan simply summoned them all at once, letting them twinkle like stars above the "assembled continent."

The world bubble drew energy from the Sea Of Quanta to sustain its existence. Although more than two hundred Accursed Moons sounded like a lot, the total area they covered simultaneously wasn't actually that large.

As such, the energy consumption wasn't significant. With a world bubble whose membrane was seven times thicker, the rate at which it drew energy from the Sea Of Quanta might have increased as well.

Maintaining the operation of several hundred Accursed Moons should be effortless.

With the fusion of the world bubbles essentially complete, Nolan continued searching for the eighth world bubble.

This time, the coordinates of the new world bubble seemed to remain mostly at a greater distance from him. It took him nearly half an hour to approach it.

As usual, Nolan first entered invisibly to explore.

He discovered a continent of at least fifteen million square kilometers, sixty percent of which was forest, with the rest consisting of lakes and rivers.

The primary inhabitants here were forest elves who loved nature. Their appearance was very similar to humans—golden hair, fair skin, with only their pointed ears setting them apart.

Overall, by human aesthetic standards, they were exceptionally handsome and beautiful.

In addition to the forest elves, there were also small fairies born from natural plants. These were creations of nature itself and were instinctively cherished by the elves.

Likewise, the forests were home to subterranean monsters. These creatures fed on life energy and had to absorb the vitality of plants to survive, making them natural enemies of the elves.

However, since these monsters lacked intelligence, the forest elves still held the upper hand in their conflicts.

As a result, compared to the previous ones, this world bubble was relatively harmonious.

What was slightly regrettable was that these forest elves were likely a long-lived race, naturally attuned to the power of nature and already possessing considerable combat strength upon reaching adulthood.

The stronger the genes, the more hereditary information they carried—just like certain powerful creatures that were born with immense strength.

The downside of this was a low probability of reproduction.

These elves were no exception. Despite occupying such a vast continent, their population was only around ten million—far too few.

Nolan didn't mind. After integrating this eighth world bubble into the world bubble of the "assembled continent," he had the operating Accursed Moons include this continent within their routes as well.

Understanding this world bubble had taken quite some time, so Nolan hurried on to search for the ninth.

This time, his luck was excellent—he found the ninth world bubble in about ten minutes.

This world bubble was enormous. Inside it was a vast gray mist space inhabited by an intelligent mist-form life race, with numbers reaching at least over a billion.

For the time being, Nolan couldn't tell whether their nature was good or evil, but they seemed to feed on energy.

Directly merging this gray mist space into the "assembled continent" was clearly not an option—if all the energy on the continent were devoured, that would be disastrous.

From this perspective, this race was indeed unfriendly to the world.

But he also didn't want to give up the cultivation progress provided by over a billion beings.

After some thought, Nolan decided to fuse the ninth world bubble anyway. However, he placed the gray mist space near the uninhabited planet instead, and summoned half of the Accursed Moons there as well.

In the future, any similar life forms that were potentially unfriendly to the world could be placed here. Even if problems arose, they wouldn't affect the "assembled continent."

By the time the ninth world bubble was dealt with, it was already very late. Nolan decided to rest and continue the next day.

And the world bubble with nine layers of world membrane, now approaching a population of one and a half billion, caused his cultivation progress per second to increase dramatically!
