For the first time in her life, Audrey ran. The moment she saw the fortress in the distance, she ran with all her might, ignoring those staring at her and the fact that it wasn't ladylike to run at all.
She ran like her life depended on it, until she was at the door of the infirmary.
She took a deep breath, steadying her heartbeat before knocking on the door. But just as she had expected, there was no response.
With a wide smile, she opened the door and the familiar smell of herbs all over the infirmary seemed to make her stomach settle.
This was home.
Her gaze moved around until she found Agnes bowed over a patient.
Without waiting, she walked fast until she got to her and hugged her right from the back.
Caught off guard, Agnes held her hands out as if she was ready to attack whoever had held her, only for her eyes to widen when she saw Audrey behind her.
