Amelia Clarke left, and the atmosphere became inexplicably awkward.
Emma Cooper placed her hands on her abdomen, anxiously twisting them together. After a moment, she said, "I'll go wash the dishes, you rest first."
Henry Moreland noticed her fair earlobes tinged with a faint pink and couldn't help but feel a mischievous urge to tease her.
"I'll wash the dishes. If my mom finds out I let her precious daughter-in-law wash dishes, she won't spare me." Watching the pink deepen next to Emma Cooper's ears, Henry added, "Didn't my mom say to make sure I pull my weight? She said if I get too pampered, I won't know the heights of the sky."
In her work, no matter how esteemed the client, Emma Cooper could always handle things calmly, but facing Henry Moreland, she could never maintain her composure.
Her expression was awkward, "Mom doesn't know about our relationship, that's why she said that. Besides, I didn't take it seriously."
