The coffee cup in Charles Smith's hand shook violently, and he said:
"Didn't you initially tell us it was a lie? How come she's pregnant now?"
Harry Hall was too anxious at the moment to explain much to Charles Smith, so he just said:
"Dad, it's just a suspicion. I'll call the doctor over to check on Helen first."
With that, he bypassed Charles and headed downstairs, but Charles pulled him back, "Doctor Gresia lives in the East Wing, I'll call him over."
"Alright, thanks, Dad."
Having said that, Harry turned around to find his wife again.
Charles Smith watched his son-in-law's hurried figure with a smile, then quickly went back to his room to tell his wife.
Helen Melendy saw Harry return just minutes after leaving, thinking he had changed his mind, but then Harry said:
"I ran into Dad at the stairs, he's calling Doctor Gresia over."
Ten minutes later, Doctor Gresia arrived, accompanied by Charles Smith and his wife, as well as Edward Smith.
