Edward Smith was somewhat surprised, but after the surprise, he was not shocked.
It would be strange if Harry Hall didn't doubt Helen Melendy's unusual attitude.
He looked at Harry Hall, smiled slightly, and said:
"What is the problem?"
"My men discovered that Chief Smith's people have been investigating my wife's matters. Could you please explain what Chief Smith means by this."
As Harry Hall spoke, he stared unblinkingly at Edward Smith.
Seeing that he didn't show any sign of guilt or avoidance, he only looked at Harry Hall for a long time before slowly saying:
"I suspect that your wife is likely my biological sister."

He had considered that Edward Smith might not answer truthfully or might honestly tell him the real reason, but never expected that Edward Smith would give such an answer.
His first reaction was that Edward Smith was joking with him, and his face involuntarily showed some anger.
