Maxwell Peary directly rejected Yancy Hastings' suggestion, saying there's no need for investigation.
This situation is just as it appears on the surface.
"Leon Blackwood has done this kind of thing before."
Last time, he almost burned Molly Harguez alive; this time, he directly put Owen Lewis in this situation.
Leon Blackwood's intentions might not be as straightforward as they seem.
But then, why did he help Nia Mitchell once before?
Maxwell Peary was instantly puzzled.
This matter seems to be getting increasingly complex.
"Lewis is probably waking up soon; let's go check on him first."
With that, Maxwell Peary and Yancy Hastings headed to the Hospital.
...
In the Hospital, Owen Lewis indeed regained consciousness.
Seeing Annie Davidson sitting pale-faced at his bedside, he managed a faint smile.
"What's there to smile about? Just look at you now."
How he could smile, who knows? Doesn't he feel pain?
Looking at him like this, Annie Davidson wished she could slap him.
