As Kazuki flew through the sky at the speed of lightning, he remembered Veronica telling him that everyone had gone to the Lightning Country for a tournament.
A few hours earlier…
Kazuki stood in Kojin's office with Veronica. She crossed her arms and explained quickly,
"Everyone is in the Lightning Country right now. Apparently it's a deal between our city and theirs. I don't really have time to explain, but you get the gist."
End of flashback.
Kazuki sighed as he continued flying.
"Why must there always be fighting every time? I finally came back to chill, and now I'm hearing everyone is in some far-away country fighting for a crazy reason. What a pain."
In the battlefield where Serena and Sukuna had been fighting Riouku, the entire city had been reduced to ash. Serena and Sukuna lay on the ground, completely drained, exhausted, and badly injured with burns and blood on their hands, heads and the rest of their bodies.
Riouku was also badly injured, burns covering her arm and leg, but she was still able to stand. She smirked fiendishly.
"Honestly, you both are a pain. You really went all out on me and even injured me severely. The whole city we fought in is completely incinerated. We should all be around B-Rank levels of power, which means we're more than likely matched in terms of power."
She walked toward the unconscious Serena and Sukuna.
"Well, you girls are strong. I'll give you that. With the power you were using, you could've killed me. I'm guessing plot armor is on my side today."
Riouku gathered lightning in her hand.
"Well don't worry, I won't kill you.....", her tone became more violent "But I'll just have to injure you!"
Just as she was about to strike, a purple lightning bolt fell from the sky and struck her directly. Riouku screamed as the lightning tore through her and fried her alive.
Serena's eyes opened slowly. As the smoke cleared, Kazuki stood in front of them.
He glanced at Serena and Sukuna.
"I wasn't expecting you two to be beaten this badly at all."
He walked forward and created a force field around them.
"This barrier will heal your injuries, so stay put.", Serena muttered "Kazuki....", and went unconscious.
Then he stepped away.
Meanwhile, Deo and Regto were fighting with overwhelming speed and power, creating giant explosions across the mountains and wasteland which blow and blast they shot at each other. Deo fired powerful beams, while Regto unleashed torrents of lightning.
During the intense battle, Deo transferred a massive amount of energy into his leg and delivered a devastating kick. Regto held his balance and retaliated with a barrage of lightning bolts that wiped out parts of the wasteland with blinding speeds and power.
While Deo dodged the bolts by running and flying at the same time, he built up an insane amount of energy inside his robotic armor — enough to power an entire continent for ten years without fail.
Regto then shot forward at insane speed, throwing rapid, powerful attacks at Deo. Deo blocked, dodged, and countered with equal force. Every clash released shockwaves that shook the entire wasteland. Both fighters weren't just showing destructive power, but their level of combat skill was very insane but yet very dangerous as well.
Deo muttered to himself,
"At this level, we're moving as fast as light… Not just me — everyone seems to be surpassing their limits. With this much power, we should both be B-Rank individually.". He smirked "I can easily move up to a hundred times that speed, but that would take unnecessary energy, cant have that now.".
Regto yelled in excitement,
"WHAT'S THE MATTER, DEO? I THOUGHT WE WERE HAVING FUN. WEREN'T WE?!"
He packed a massive amount of lightning into his fist and punched Deo straight down, causing a huge explosion.
Deo stood in the crater, his robotic armor beginning to fall apart. He smirked.
"Sorry, Regto… but with the amount of power I'm about to hit you with, I don't think you'll survive."
Regto prepared to finish him as he zoomed down at insane speed levels, the lightning all over his arms were going much more powerful than ever.
"Alright then! Let's see you try — and fail!", Regto sneered.
That was all the motivation Deo needed to obliterate Regto even more. Grinning, he transformed his arm into a blaster.
"I call this attack… Blaze Arm: Atomic Chaos!".
A powerful red beam erupted from his arm, hitting Regto and causing a massive explosion in the sky. The blast was so large that it illuminated the entire surface of the Earth with a cataclysmic burst of power. People around the world saw it as the sky momentarily changed colour, and lightning rained down without control.
Even Kojin and Najenda, watching from the Lightning Lord's office, froze in shock.
Levi, Tomoa, and Nazuna stared with wide, trembling mouths.
Najenda forced a nervous smile.
"I hope it's not one of my soldiers that attack is incinerating right now…"
When the explosion finally cleared, Deo's arm was burned severely. He looked at it and shook his head.
"I should've known my body couldn't handle that amount of power. That was ten years' worth of energy… it should've pushed me to S-Rank. But my body isn't trained for it yet."
Regto fell to the ground, his body almost completely incinerated. Deo sighed.
"I did this to someone once when I was thirteen. The guy was reduced to ash. You're lucky I held back. Otherwise you'd be dead."
Meanwhile, on another side of the Lightning Country, Sōn flew at insane speed, fire covering his body as he dodged huge lightning needles chasing after him. The needles were powerful enough to blow apart massive parts of a city in seconds. Sōn flew, dodged and even dropped on ground level in order to run properly with the help of his flames.
As he dodged, he muttered to himself,
"What the hell was my old man thinking making us fight people like this? If this is how strong one Lightning Soldier is, then how strong are the rest?"
Distracted by his thoughts, he didn't notice his female opponent appearing above him until she kicked him straight away across the city. As Sōn was sent crashing accross the city, she fired multiple lightning needles after him, causing an explosion that wiped out several buildings.
Sōn climbed out of the rubble with injuries on his body. He looked up to see the girl — gloves coated with lightning, grey hoodie, goggles, skirt, and boots.
Sōn smirked.
"Well, what do we have a here? This babe's a cute one. She's strong as hell. But she's not as strong or as fast as my elder brother."
Fire began building heavily around Sōn's body.
"If Saito were here to see me like this, he'd laugh at me. If I can't beat someone who isn't even close to the person I'm training so hard to surpass… then forget it."
He clenched his fists, flames erupting violently with a deranged smile on his face that made him look like a fire demon.
"I cant forget about beating or becoming as strong as my brother. After all, we promised each other we'd become strong as hell."
He grinned.
"Didn't we… big brother Saito?"
