Chapter 28 - Chapter 28: Slippery Snake

"Summoning Jutsu."

A strong gust of wind erupted from within the summoning circle, and when it eased it you could see a small female fairy with blond hair and a green dress.

"My oh my, what do we have here? Is this the legendary summons of the Hoshizora clan? It's an honor to be the first person it's used on in 500 years." Orochimaru said.

"Ew, who the hell is that?" Sylph said.

"Sylph, spirit dive." Shin said.

"Oh, Okay!" Sylph said.

'Spirit Sage Mode.' Shin thought.

A massive aura erupted from Seishin as he resonated with his spirit. He gained an impressive wind aura, his ears elongated and red marks appeared on his face.

Seishin raised his left hand into the air and said, "Never-Never Land."

A dome of stars materialized around Seishin and Orochimaru that rotated around them. At the same time, Sylph blew a star-decorated horn and spread small clones of herself throughout the area.

Orochimaru grew increasingly more alarmed as time moved on and witnessed the massive display of power in front of him.

"W-what is this?" Orochimaru said.

"You like it? It's one of my strongest abilities. I can use it to stop time within this dome." Seishin said with a smirk.

"What?!" Orochimaru exclaimed.

"You're not getting out of here alive." Seishin said. "Sylph, pepper him."

Wind arrows appeared in the sky that they blocked out the light. Then they instantly shot towards him as Orochimaru's body got covered in holes.

Blood spurted out from his mouth as he fell on his knees, and looked up at the sky as he saw the many arrows still in the sky.

'Is this the power of a god? To be able to stop time itself and still have so much power at his disposal. Unbelievable.'

Then suddenly, two hands burst out from Orochimaru's mouth and pried his jaw open as the healed body of Orochimaru came out from inside of him.

"I wonder how many times you can do that." Seishin said. "Because, we have all the time in the world." He said with a smirk.

__________

Some "time" later.

__________

"This is boring!" Sylph exclaimed.

"Yeah that's true. Though it is amazing that he managed to create a technique that allows him to escape death so many times." Seishin said.

"Heh, I can do this all day." Orochimaru said, looking exhausted.

"Can you? Sigh… Fine, let's get this over with." Seishin said.

"Saint Spirit of Keres. I call upon your power to give this man a final and violent death." Seishin said.

A violent monstrosity of untold measure appeared after Seishin absorbed Sylph and created a spirit of violent death with his wind. The spirit flew around Seishin until he pointed at Orochimaru.

The spirit let out a violent screech as she flew towards Orochimaru. The spirit flew slowly with its mouth open still letting out the violent screech. Orochimaru, scared out of his wits, ran to the best of his abilities. But the spirit always reaches its target, always.

The spirit tackled Orochimaru and started to violently rip him apart from the outside and inside.

Orochimaru wailed in pain, until death finally took hold. The spirit continued to eat his body as the wind element disintegrated every last atom of Orochimaru's being.

Once his body disappeared, the spirit finally stopped. Seishin then dismissed the spirit and disabled his power.

"Wow, that was brutal!" Sylph said.

"Yeah, I got the idea for it when I was thinking of ways to kill him. Due to the rich history of my clan, we have records of several friendly interactions with the Uzumaki clan. By partnering with them, the clan was able to implement seals in their elemental jutsu to achieve varied effects. I added multiple seals that worked in tandem to effectively pulverize Orochimaru's body to significantly weaken him. Now, even if he has multiple back up plans and fragments of his soul spread out in different places he will be significantly weaker and it will take him years to get back the power he lost today.

Orochimaru is a snake and a master at creating plans upon plans upon plans. He embodies what it truly means to be a Shinobi, and a scientist. Too bad his ambitions were twisted to something so dark at a young age. He could have been an asset much greater than even Tsunade." Seishin said.

"You really have a high opinion of him." Sylph said.

"..." Seishin didn't say anything else.

__________

At the Hokage Building

__________

That concludes my report, Hokage-Sama.

"Incredible, you managed to kill him?" Hiruzen said, in disbelief.

"I managed to pulverize his body, it will take him years to get back his strength. I don't believe I truly killed him." Seishin responded.

"..." Hiruzen sat in deep contemplation.

"Seishin, I'm thinking of retiring after the Chunin exams are over." The Hokage finally said.

Seishin didn't respond.

"I'm getting old, now there are multiple people in the village that are stronger and more capable than me." Hiruzen said with a sigh.

"Strength should not be the only deciding factor for deciding who becomes Hokage. The whole village system is outdated and incomplete. Pouring resources into training shinobi based on metrics such as talent and bloodlines is inefficient and idiotic." Seishin said.

"I know, that is precisely why I am retiring. I'm a relic of a foregone era. The village needs a leader who can bring about such positive change. And without absolute strength, or a period of long peace. Such changes will not occur. It is how the hidden villages were established in the first place. The first Hokage's power was so absolute, he treated the tailed beasts like pets. His very existence created peace, but unfortunately he was too honest and naive. He didn't really think about stabilizing his position and power. So it came as no surprise that his death became the catalyst for the First Great Ninja War." The Hokage said.

"Are you suggesting… me?" Seishin asked.

"Yes, but to do that. I need you to step out into the light. You can't continue to be an ANBU member. This conversation was a little bit of a test. Your power is more than sufficient, and your thinking shows exactly the kind of progressive ideas the village needs." The Hokage said.

"...Very well, I accept this burden." Seishin said.

Then suddenly someone burst into the room.

"Oh, my baby is going to become the Hokage!!!" Seishin's mom burst into the room with tears in her eyes as she jumped Seishin and hugged him. The force pushed both of them onto the floor.

"Mom! You can't just listen in on such a secret meeting and hug me in front of the Hokage." Seishin said.

"Pff, please. I can do whatever I want, I do most of the work around here anyway." Haruki said.

'Thankfully, I won't have to deal with her anymore after the Chunin exams.' Hiruzen thought with a sweat rolling down the side of his face.

Haruki glared at him and said, "Why do I feel like you just thought something bad about me?"

"I have no idea what you mean. Anyway, as I was saying, Seishin will be the proctor for the Chunin exams. This will help him get some spotlight and showcase his power as there is bound to be some people who will take it too far. Haruki, you will act as my assistant and stand by me during the exams in place of your son." The Hokage said.

"Fine…" Haruki said.

"There is bound to be some trouble during the Chunin exams. Orochimaru's plans may have been thrown into disarray due to his untimely demise but I imagine his subordinates will try to continue on with his plans. So keep your guard up." The Hokage said.

""Yes sir!"" The mother and father duo said.

And so time moved on.

With Orochimaru's temporary death, Kabuto scrambled to keep his people under control and continue with the plan. He was forced to take Orochimaru's place, as well as activate all relevant contingency plans. He has slept a wink in weeks.

'I can't believe him, just going off and getting himself killed and leaving all the work to me.' Kabuto thought, grumbling as he continued to work. Behind him a vast laboratory stretched out into the darkness with multiple vats next to the walls.

All the vats were encased in metal, with monitoring devices next to them. The vats closest to Kabuto were not covered. One had a baby body growing inside, and another had a teenage body inside with red markings on his face and pale skin with white hair.

"Soon, very soon." Kabuto said, as he continued to work.

__________

"Let the Chunin exams begin!" Seishin said.

The crowd in the arena roared. The Hokage and Kazekage sat on arm chairs watching the event. While the Daimyo's of the Fire and Wind countries sat in lavish viewing areas next to each other also enjoying the view.

Behind the Kazekage stood his guards, and behind the Hokage stood an ordinary woman in a plain suit holding a clipboard in hand.

'Does the Hokage have so much confidence in himself that he only has his assistant with him?' The Kazekage thought.

'This guys' transformation is horrendous. Who does he think he's fooling?' Haruki thought, stealing a glance at the Kazekage in her peripheral vision.

Haruki then looked down at the kids in the arena. 'Naruto, you better not lose. Otherwise, you're in for a hell of a time. You'll think the training I put you through to prepare for this exam was heaven.' Haruki thought when she saw Naruto waving and smiling at the audience.

"Woah, I just got goosebumps." Naruto said, as he felt a shiver go down his spine.

"You alright man?" Shikamaru asked.

"Yeah… I'm fine." Naruto said as he looked up at the stands and noticed the dark aura emanating from behind the Hokage. Once he saw her looking straight at him with a not so sweet smile, he immediately looked away as a sweat rolled down his back.

'You got this Naruto.' Hinata thought, looking down at Naruto from the stands. She was sitting next to Ino and Tenten.

"Due to some unforeseen incidents, the matchups have been changed slightly." Seishin said as he revealed the new matchups.

"Naruto vs Neji and Sakura vs the winner

Sasuke vs Gaara

Kankuro vs Shino

And due to the death of contestant number 9, Dosu of the sound Shikamaru will fight Temari." Seishin said as he showed the updated brackets.

Once that was announced, everyone left the arena except for Seishin, Neji and Naruto.

"Ready? Begin!" Seishin said as he chopped his hand down between the two and jumped out of the way.

__________

Happy new years folks. I know I'm a little late, but what are you gonna do, inspiration strikes whenever.

I already had a plan that was going to follow the plot a bit closer. I was also gonna have Jiraiya train Naruto and Sakura. But I changed that to Haruki. I also skipped the training arc and decided to make Seishin the Fifth Hokage. He's going to be an extremely aggressive Hokage who will reform the entire Shinobi system and introduce multiple new things.

Also, keep in mind, he doesn't have future knowledge. But because he lived in a medieval world before and now he's experienced the conveniences of technology and its potential. He's going to be getting people to research it.

He's going to delegate a lot, and work with the Daimyo to implement his reforms. But I'll skip all of that and just say that the Daimyo's only daughter liked him and so did the Daimyo so he gives him a great deal of autonomy.

I just came up with that idea right now, so let me know if Seishin should like the girl and marry her and become the Daimyo himself.

But that stuff is way down the line. He's also going to be much stricter on Shinobi and implement police reforms. He's a big discipline guy, he will immediately call it out if someone speaks out of line.
