Chapter 11 - In the passing(3)

A look of understanding came upon the girl's relative's face as he smiled back in apology and spoke further,
"Oh, I see. So that's how it is. Don't worry too much, my friend. We haven't really beaten her up or anything like there. Ah, she is still inside her room with her dead parents' bodies. Seriously, I don't know what is wrong with that girl. Those assholes are already dead. Why would she want to sell herself for just some chump change?"
The other man shrugged his shoulders as he took another sip of the tea and spoke to the girl's relative,
"Well, why should we care? It's not like we really care about her or anything, right? Now, I have the contract prepared here. You just need to sign on it, and I will hand the money over to you. Since you are her last remaining direct relative, you have the right to sell her in case of any unpaid debt in her name. After signing the contract, she would rightfully belong to me, and I would be able to sell her under the Kingdom's jurisdiction."
The other man looked seriously at the girl's relative. The seriousness wasn't really reflected on the girl's relative face, though, as he spoke back to him in a carefree manner.
"Don't talk to me about the legal crap. But you still haven't told me how much you are willing to buy her for."
As the talk came down to money, both of them finally appeared to have become serious. The other man gulped the tea one last time as he finally spoke,
"Well, since you are my old friend, I won't hide anything from you. I think the girl, if she really is in top condition like you told me about, then her selling price should be around 10 gold coins. After comparing my expenses and everything, I think I am ready to pay you 7 gold coins in payment. If it were someone else, I would have settled for just 3 gold coins. However, you know how close the two of us are, and even how close our parents were. There is no way that I would cheat you like that. Of course, once she is sold and the contract has been signed, even if she gets sold for 100 gold coins or more, the money would belong to me and only me. You understand that, right?"
A look of absolute delight flashed on the girl's relative's face as he laughed out in a jestful manner.
"Of course. Of course. I don't really need that much money for myself. 7 gold coins for that piece of trash would be really great. Also, the girl wants her parents to be buried. I don't really care much about that, so when she gets sold, we can just throw them both somewhere in the lakes to be fed by fish."
Hearing how easily such malicious things were spoken by the girl's relative, the other man's face became somewhat pale as he spoke back to him,
"Oh my god. Are you really going to do that? Well, your choice, though. It's not like I care. So many people die in dumpsters every day. Who the hell cares about some dead couple's bodies in this day and age when no one cares about the living?"
The girl's relative seemed to agree very much with the other man. He appeared to be very impatient as he ended the conversation there, and he stood up as he quickly spoke to him.
"Yeah, right. Then let me show you the girl first."

An hour or so passed before the two of them returned to the Study hall and took their respective seats. The girl's relative appeared to be a bit anxious, as he slowly asked the other man,
"So how about it? W-Was she good?"
The other man appeared to be very satisfied, as he laughed a bit before he spoke,
"Oh yeah. Totally good. She is definitely a top-class good. Hey, but the selling price still won't change, alright? The contract has been prepared, and I can pay you the 7 gold coins immediately."
The girl's relative became extremely happy as well, and he smiled back at the other man and spoke,
"Of course, of course. Hmm... there you go. Now my gold coins, please."
Seeing the look of obvious greed on his friend's face, the other man shrugged in worry as he spoke,
"You really don't trust me either, huh? Here, have your gold coins."
Receiving the coins in his hands, the girl's relative finally took a deep breath of relief, as he spoke,
"Nice. Also, my only request of you is not to bring that girl back here for any reason. In the meantime... I will find someone to throw these bodies into a lake or pond somewhere."
The other man replied in a carefree manner,
"Don't worry. I am sure she will be sold pretty quickly. I, too, don't want to waste too much of my time here."
The other man appeared to be in a hurry to conduct the business deal. The girl's relative too didn't want to hold his friend back any moment further as he spoke,
"Then let's meet again sometime in the future, dear friend."
The other man grasped and shook the girl's relative's hand, talking back to him smilingly,
"Of course. Hopefully, you would have someone else to sell as well at that time."
"Hahahaha."
Both of the men laughed in delight, as both of them had finally achieved both of their own objectives.

The night went by quicker than I could remember. As soon as the first ray of light hit the windows, I quickly got out of bed and stretched my body. After all, today was the day that I was going to finally lose my virginity.
If I had wanted the prostitutes to gather at the Palace, it could have been done without a problem. However, it wouldn't have suited the Nobel house's reputation at all. I mean, really. Just think what our reputation would be at that point.
Since this world still follows an old-school mentality, nobody in this region wanted to see their Noble lord's young daughter being entangled with a prostitute, especially within her own house. What an irony, really. It would have been fine for the male heirs to do so, but for me... It was just a taboo. And that is the reason why I have to go outside to do it.
