Chapter 141 - Chapter 140: New God tried to kill a Reality Warper

<(Atem POV)>

"Are you certain you want to fight us, Apostle of Death? If you stand with us instead, we can give you everything you desire. Eternal life, power beyond comprehension, a universe-spanning kingdom greater than anything you could dream of, and women beyond the count of worlds. It can all be yours if you just kneel. But refuse, and we will erase you into nothingness. After all, as you've already seen, even death may die." Franklin Richards, twisted by the Many Angled Ones, tried to tempt me with promises of everything a human could possibly crave, his voice distorted as if thousands of nightmareish monsters were speaking through him at the same time.

I honestly couldn't understand why he was even bothered trying to recruit me. Franklin Richards was supposed to be one of the most powerful reality warpers in existence. He was beyond omega-level, rivaling the Celestials themselves. Traveling between universes should have been nothing to him. So why was this Franklin still locked inside this universe? And why hadn't the Many Angled Ones, who controlled his body, already crushed the insurgencies that Reed mentioned, like the machine resistance? For him, it should've been effortless.

I know that by the Marvel multiverse's rules, most Dimension Lords, Outer Gods, and cosmic beings are restricted in how much power they can exert in the material universe or outside their realms. But with Franklin's reality-warping under their command, the Many Angled Ones shouldn't have been limited at all. His abilities should've let them bypass those restrictions completely.

So then why are they bound to this single universe instead of threatening the multiverse itself?

I could only think of two explanations for this. One explanation is that Franklin's consciousness is still buried inside his mind, fighting the control of the Many Angled Ones on him and keeping them from using his full strength. However, this is unlikely since their corruption is almost absolute, and Franklin's soul, no matter how powerful, should not have been able to survive for this long under the combined onslaught of all the Many Angled Ones. So the more probable answer is that this Franklin Richards simply doesn't have the same insane level of power as the canonical one.

"What you're offering, I already have. And what I don't, I'll take for myself. There's nothing you can tempt me with that would make me join you. And understand this, Many Angled Ones—I didn't accept the job of annihilating all of you from Mistress Death just for some measly reward, though that definitely played a part. The real reason I came here is that I despise eldritch parasites like you. All you rodents bring along with you is destruction and madness. You're nothing but vermin—good for nothing except being wiped out." I replied, my voice carrying nothing but contempt.

[Ding! New Mission detected!]

[Mission Title: I am an Eldritch Pest Control Novice!]

[Mission Description:Implement the concept of death on the Many Angled Ones and their host and show them what death feels like. Show them that even eldritch beings are just mortal vermin in front of a New God.Prove yourself by completely obliterating Franklin's body along with their entire existence!]

[Mission Reward:1 legendary-tier special ability, 1 Annihilargh detonator]

"Man, sounds like the system's lining me up with something good. If this is the same Annihilargh explosive device I'm thinking of, that alone makes this mission worth it. Guess it's finally time I got some broken gear, huh?... Still, the rewards just show how strong even this version of Franklin Richards really is," I muttered, raising my hand in front of my face. "But again, I've got an ace of my own." A feral grin spread across my lips as I snapped my fingers the same way Franklin had earlier. "Divine Domain."

At once, the air went unnaturally still as an unseen field of energy burst outward from me, spreading without resistance until it engulfed everything nearby. In the blink of an eye, my domain sealed off a full ten square kilometers in every direction.

I could have stretched it further—hell, if I forced it, I might've wrapped it around the Earth itself. But bigger wasn't always better. Expanding the domain too far would bleed my energy and strain my control. Keeping my territory smaller meant tighter focus, steadier flow, and more power where it actually mattered.

Furthermore, this wasn't just some temporary space where my strength doubled while his was cut in half. No, this was my territory—a region of real-world space where I could feel every atom, every shift in the air, and even bend the rules of reality if I tried hard enough. I wasn't flawless with it yet, but I was skilled enough to undercut most of Franklin's reality-warping tricks. Of course, his powers wouldn't vanish completely—they'd still be there—but stripped down, weaker.

Before, he could've blinked and turned Earth into a burning sphere of fire and magma. In my territory, he would have to conjure a miniature sun and try to scorch the planet with it. "In short, I'd just sealed off the bulk of his power and basically forced him to actually play by the laws of physics for once."

"You can manifest a domain in the real world? Impossible. Someone like you shouldn't be able to manage that without an entire separate dimension backing the intrusion. Only the highest of the Voidborne could achieve it!" Franklin's voice carried genuine surprise, his pitch-black eyes narrowing as if he were seeing me for the first time. "Who are you really, to wield that kind of power?" he demanded, frowning as a massive ball of purple fire bloomed in his hand—then hurled it at me without hesitation.

I could feel every ability I had surging higher within my domain, but none more than my magic. Normally, I avoided relying on HP magic in battle; versatile as it was, it lacked the destructive force I needed. But here, within my own territory, I could feel its potential amplifying like never before.

And I was right. As the fiery sphere rushed toward me, I flicked my hand and effortlessly transfigured the entire blaze into harmless snowdust. It was almost laughably simple. I'd always known HP magic was more about intent than formulas and complex structures, but even then, I'd been bound by its rules. Inside my domain, though, it was as effortless as sketching on a blank canvas.

"Well, looks like it's finally my magic's time to shine," I quipped, pulling the snowdust toward me with a thought. In my hands, it twisted and compacted until it became a towering metal serpent, as tall as a building, which I sent crashing down toward Franklin.

The reality warper barely flinched. With a mere flick of his wrist, the serpent unraveled into a cascade of rose petals drifting through the air. But he didn't stop at just that because the very next moment, arcs of lightning began to coil around his body, merging together into the shape of a massive sword the size of a bulldozer, which he immediately hurled at me, his eyes full of pure disdain.

"Diffindo," I cast aloud, the severing charm slicing clean through the massive lightning sword. As its name implied, the blade split apart, unraveling into countless weak sparks that fizzled harmlessly around me. "Fusilis Terra," I followed up quickly, refusing to give Franklin the chance to prepare another move. Honestly, I would have liked to continue using non-verbal magic, but it is a given fact that HP magic spells are a lot stronger when used with verbal spells.

A beam of light shot from my fingers and struck the ground beneath him. Within seconds, the earth around us melted into a roiling sea of molten lava, surging upward in massive waves that tried to swallow him whole.

Naturally, Franklin was far too powerful to be undone by mere lava. Each time the red-hot lava surged close, he froze it effortlessly into snow, and thus remained untouched by the inferno encircling him. But then again, I hadn't expected such a basic attack to hurt him anyway.

"Torrens Igneus Jaculum Automata," I invoked, and from the lava rose hundreds of massive, blazing darts, each hot enough to melt steel and sharp enough to pierce it. They shot toward Franklin in a relentless barrage. 'Guess all those lessons with Selene and Wanda paid off after all. Pretty sure we cooked up more HP spells by adapting Marvel's mystical arts than what canon Harry Potter ever gave us… Though most of them are curses and jinxes, so technically, dark arts.' I couldn't help but snicker.

Franklin grew visibly more irritated with each lava dart that streaked toward him. The spell tracked him automatically, leaving him no time to adjust or focus on me, forcing him into a constant defense.

"Enough of this sorcery!" he roared, clapping his hands together in what looked like the angriest namaste I have ever seen. Instantly, the entire molten field solidified into ice and snow, erasing both of my spells in a single move. "Stop hiding behind tricks, coward—face me directly if you dare!" His voice now grated like a thousand blades grinding together.

"Exaero." I didn't bother responding to his childish taunt. Instead, I unleashed the one spell I'd been saving for this moment. A flash of white light shot from my palm, striking Franklin square in the chest before he could react. A violent decompression tore through his respiratory system, rupturing his lungs in an instant, leaving him no defense. 'God, I love how most HP spells just bypass most defenses. They're broken as hell.' I muttered to myself.

"WheezeCough CoughWheeze," Franklin choked, blood spilling from his eyes, nose, and mouth like a broken faucet. The damage to his unshielded body was so severe that he lost focus and plummeted to the ground, unable to stay aloft anymore. He pressed both his hands to his chest, struggling to use his weakened reality-warping to repair his shredded lungs. However, unfortunately for him, I wasn't about to let that happen.

Before he could even blink, I appeared in front of him. "Fiendlightning!" I roared, and a streak of dark-red lightning burst from my fingertip, slamming into him and ripping through his flesh, tendons, and muscle, leaving burns seared across his body. But I didn't stop there. "Peredo!" Acid surged into my palms, and I hurled it at him, the corrosive flood tearing through his clothes and devouring his body at terrifying speed.

"Glugh—Ahhg—Ahmg!" Franklin gagged and writhed, not just choking now but burning alive, his skin melting into the tatters of what remained of his clothes. His body was so corroded that his face barely had any recognizable features left. He was clinging to life, sustained only by the eldritch parasites within him.

"Atomis Separatio Maxima." My voice was calm as I unleashed the final spell I'd been holding in reserve, one born from one of my favorite anime in my last life. However, unlike most magic, this didn't break physics—it embraced it. After all, it was meant to replicate one of humanity's most terrifying scientific inventions, the technique of breaking an atom and weaponizing it.

The moment I cast it, a sphere of energy ignited before me and shot toward Franklin at light speed. When it struck, the curse split the very atoms it touched, triggering a chain reaction with Franklin at its core. A nuclear detonation bloomed—greater than any humanity had ever known. And unlike mundane nukes, this one wasn't bound by fuel, but by the sheer amount of magical energy I could pour into it. And trust me, I had more than enough to spare.

BOOOOM! The detonation shook the Earth to its core, the unending nuclear chain reaction ripping open the planet's crust and threatening to tear it apart entirely. Shockwaves and firestorms tore across the surface, reducing everything to ash and wiping out billions of corrupted beings within minutes. "... Shit, I forgot to say 'I am atomic' before the blast," I muttered, realizing too late how perfect that flex would have been. "Then again, I doubt he'd have stood around waiting while I tried to aura farm." I shook my head at the thought.

"Anyway, that should've erased every trace of Franklin's physical body. Which means it's time to deal with the Many Angled Ones," I said flatly, sensing with my cosmic awareness that all traces of Franklin were completely gone—but the faint eldritch presence remained, lingering at the epicenter of the blast. However, they were extremely weak now, far too unstable to exist long in the material universe without a mortal host. No doubt they were already searching for the nearest strong vessel to crawl into and recover. "Well, the best way to handle parasitic vermin like you is to burn you all to nothingness," I declared, as void fire ignited in my palms, black flames swirling with absolute hunger.
