Germain's Divine Sense shifted once more.
This time, he arrived at Meteor City.
The land that was once a mountain of garbage, filled with filthy water and suffocating with toxic fumes, had now taken on an entirely different face—so much so that one could barely recognize it.
Ten years ago, a plant was discovered on the Dark Continent.
It was called the "Flower of Evil."
Merchants brought its seeds back to the Six Continents, and it was Shalnark who bought them.
From then on, the Flowers of Evil were planted all throughout Meteor City.
The soil most beloved by these flowers was, coincidentally, the very same soil of Meteor City—land drenched in pollution and poison.
They rooted themselves deep, grew strong, and bloomed in full glory.
In a way that seemed almost miraculous, the flowers broke down the contaminants within the ground, releasing fresh oxygen into the air.
Little by little, the land and atmosphere changed.
Ten years passed.
What was once uninhabitable wasteland now supported trees and blossoms.
The air had grown noticeably clearer.
Houses, factories, and roads were built.
People bustled about, carts and vehicles passed through—an entirely new life had sprung up here.
The residents of Meteor City, who once drifted like outcasts, unrecognized by the Six Continents, were now seen as human beings.
They could leave to work outside.
They could trade with the wider world.
This place was still far from becoming a grand metropolis.
But compared to twelve years ago, it had transformed beyond recognition.
Shalnark, Machi, Pakunoda, and Sheila—those who had once resolved to change Meteor City's fate and push it into the winds of a new era—had been proven right.
On this land covered with Flowers of Evil, the people had found hope.
They began to wonder—what would this place look like another twelve years from now?
Germain's Divine Sense then shifted again.
From Meteor City, it drifted toward Greed Island.
The island had now become one of the best stepping stones for Nen users preparing to journey into the New Continent or even the Dark Continent.
Rushing recklessly into those unknown lands often meant death.
But on Greed Island, they could experience that same level of danger.
And because it was a "game," they wouldn't truly die.
They could start over again and again.
Nen users can practice their skills here, constantly challenging terrifying hell-level dungeons such as the Chimera Ant Nest, the Five Great Disasters, the West Coast, the Deep Sea, and the Wallfacer.
They would only set out from here once they felt fully prepared.
Since Dwun and List mostly stayed on the New Continent, the management of Greed Island had, in practice, fallen to Abengane, Razor, Tsezguerra and others.
Ickshonpe could travel across the world at any time via the network, but Greed Island still required someone to handle its management in person.
Not to mention, the so-called "Hacker Hunter" was more interested in continually expanding the internet world, and had long since stopped paying much attention to Greed Island.
Abengane had finally reached the high position he had long dreamed of, yet he neither became corrupt nor lazy, because he saw new hope.
He also wanted a transfer to the New Continent… or even the Dark Continent.
Abengane believed he could climb even higher.
In contrast, Komugi was content to remain on Greed Island, happily spending twelve years playing chess every single day, rain or shine.
Her occasional melancholy came from remembering the "kindred spirit" she once had—a worthy opponent in chess… though sadly, that person had long since passed.
After this, Germain's "Divine Sense" shifted eastward, leaving the Six Continents and arriving at the center of the current human world—the New Continent.
The New Continent, also called the "Seventh Continent," was no longer the wild, undeveloped land it had been twelve years ago.
The prosperity of its major cities far surpassed anything on the Six Continents.
Chairman Netero and Granny Linne retired deep in the mountains and forests here.
They occasionally met with young people—sometimes members of the Hunter Association, sometimes the rulers or Steiner or Princess Oito—but most of the time, they preferred peace and quiet.
Unlike other members of the Hunter Association, one-star Hunter Leorio insisted on visiting here every single day to check on Chairman Netero and Granny Linne.
He was now a highly respected doctor within the Hunter Association, with medical skills second only to a few like Cheadle and Sanbica, his reputation far surpassing what it once was.
Leorio could have simply called other doctors to visit, or requested daily reports from the stationed doctors nearby.
Yet, he continued to insist on coming in person every single day.
Although he constantly complained about how remote the two elders' home was, he never slackened when examining them.
His meticulous attitude was unwavering, no matter what.
The Triple-Star Hunter, Kurapika, didn't have the same persistence as Leorio, but he still made it a point to visit the two elders at least twice a month.
His current work required him to shuttle constantly between the New Continent and the Dark Continent. The tasks were numerous, the deadlines tight, and a partner was necessary.
But that was precisely where the problem lay.
Many people were aware of Kurapika's identity, as well as that of his mentor.
As a result, under countless watchful eyes, various factions all wanted to assign someone as his partner.
Just as things were becoming complicated, someone volunteered, effortlessly easing the tension among all sides.
"Melody the Music Hunter" became Kurapika's partner—she had often collaborated smoothly with him in the past, and naturally, that continued.
Moreover, after that great calamity, Melody had been personally blessed by the "God of Hunters," lifting her curse and restoring both her appearance and her body to their original state.
Someone under the care of the "God of Hunters" becoming Kurapika's companion naturally drew no objections and left no room for conspiracy theories.
Kurapika, too, finally breathed a sigh of relief.
If Killua and Gon were the "Twin Prodigies" and Leorio and Zushi were "mid-tier," then Kurapika stood at the very top of his generation, unmatched by anyone.
And then there was his mentor…
The invisible pressure Kurapika faced was unimaginable. Having a familiar partner like Melody was simply a blessing.
He didn't want his work on the Dark Continent to be further entangled with exhausting incidents that drained one's spirit.
Even though no one dared to cross him, the near-flattering goodwill he encountered was enough to irritate him.
Melody always responded with a gentle smile. She would play a flute melody for him and silently follow him, accompanying him to the ends of the world.
Wherever they went didn't matter; Melody never complained or regretted a thing.
Yes, Kurapika was artificially probing the ends of the world.
Alongside him, others were undertaking the same task: Ging, Bisky, Kite, Knuckle, Shoot, and several more.
Through the pens of these explorers, the Chronicles of the New World and the Recordings of the Dark Continent would become invaluable treasures for those who came after.
