Although no one taught him about human interactions growing up, Joseph Shaw understood how to read people better than anyone through experience.
He could distinguish between true words and mere social pleasantries.
"Dad, Mom." Joseph Shaw turned and looked at Father Carter and Mother Carter, calling out to them before saying, "I brought Jillian here, originally wanting to relieve Jane Sampson's worries. Before Jane Sampson's incident, she and I had an agreement, and I should fulfill it."
This was Joseph Shaw's purpose for bringing Jillian Carter today.
"Have you figured it out?" Father Carter's expression became serious.
The agreement Joseph Shaw referred to was the three-day deadline.
However, after Jane Sampson's incident, those three days kept being endlessly postponed.
Father Carter even thought that Joseph Shaw and Jillian Carter forgot about the matter after Jane Sampson left.
Yet, every member of the Carter family, including Father Carter, never forgot about it.
