Sienna Johnson gently guided her back to the vanity. Placing her hands on Kiki's shoulders, she admired the beautiful woman in the mirror. "The bride is so beautiful..."
"Not really..." Kiki said shyly.
"You look stunning today, truly..." As if afraid Kiki wouldn't believe her, Sienna stressed the point, her voice earnest.
"Godmother, you're so beautiful..." Curly, the little flower girl, chimed in, echoing her mother.
Sienna said, "But no one is as beautiful as our Curly."
Curly shook her head. "No, the bride is the most beautiful! Today, you're the most beautiful, Godmother. Mommy and I aren't even close."
The pristine white wedding gown was specially designed for Kiki. Her belly wasn't very large, and the empire-waist gown concealed it so well that, without a close look, no one would notice she was pregnant.
Pauline Briggs added, "At a wedding, the bride always has a special glow. That's why she's the most beautiful."
