Chapter 986 - Chapter 986: Arnim Zola

As Charles finished speaking, Minato Namikaze promptly replied, "Understood, Lord Charles."

For Minato, with his Hiraishin technique combined with kunai stationed in continental hotels across various cities, this granted him terrifying mobility. He could clear out a S.H.I.E.L.D. base in one city and instantly move to the next.

Excluding Charles Doyle, Minato's mobility was unmatched.

Ginny also nodded and added, "I'll handle the coordination. However, we'll need a large number of Hiraishin kunai. Continental Hotels have branches in all major global cities, so the required quantity will be significant."

Minato nodded and replied, "Leave it to me, Secretary Ginny. I'll deliver the kunai after the meeting."

Ginny acknowledged this with a nod and said nothing further.

At this point, Jiraiya spoke up, "What should we do if we encounter resistance from S.H.I.E.L.D. personnel or officials from various countries trying to confiscate what we've collected?"

Charles pondered for a moment before answering, "Knock them out if necessary. But if they resist stubbornly, don't hold back."

"As for how far to take this, use your discretion. However, I have one strict rule—no injuries on our side."

The group responded in unison, "Understood, Lord Charles!"

Charles nodded in satisfaction and continued, "Selene, you'll accompany me during this operation. I'll need you to use your vampire abilities to extract detailed memories from Pierce."

"Yes, boss," Selene replied.

Charles then declared, "Now, let's proceed with team assignments."

Elsewhere-

Steve Rogers drove Natasha Romanoff to the site where he once underwent training in New Jersey.

Arriving at the camp entrance, Steve gazed at the gates with a sense of nostalgia. He then asked, "Is this the place?"

Natasha checked her phone, nodded, and confirmed, "The files were transmitted from here."

Steve remarked, "Camp Lehigh—this is where I came from."

As they entered the camp, the sky gradually darkened.

"I trained at this camp," Steve said, his voice tinged with emotion.

Scanning for signals with her phone, Natasha asked, "Has it changed much?"

Steve looked around and replied, "Not really."

As he observed the familiar surroundings, Steve felt as if he had returned to the time when he trained there.

After completing her scan, Natasha shook her head and said, "No luck here."

"No thermal imaging, no signals—not even radio waves."

Natasha returned her multi-functional phone to her pocket and remarked, "The programmer likely used a router to prevent tracking."

Noticing Steve looking intently in a specific direction, she asked, "What's wrong?"

Steve started walking toward a building and explained as he went, "Military regulations prohibit storing ammunition within 500 yards of the barracks."

"This building shouldn't be here."

Reaching the door, Steve used his shield to break the lock and led Natasha inside.

Once inside, they switched on the lights, illuminating the room.

Seeing the S.H.I.E.L.D. logo on the wall, Natasha commented, "This place belongs to S.H.I.E.L.D."

Steve nodded, "It's probably where the transmission originated."

The two began exploring the various rooms, eventually finding a wall with three photographs.

Natasha pointed at one and remarked, "That's Tony's dad."

Steve confirmed, "Howard."

Natasha noticed Steve gazing at the photo of a young woman on the wall and asked, "Who's that girl?"

Steve didn't respond but turned and walked away.

Approaching a large cabinet, Steve sensed something hidden within.

"They were working here in secrecy," he observed.

Gripping the cabinet, he gave it a strong pull, causing it to slide apart, revealing an elevator behind it.

"Why would an elevator be hidden here?"

Natasha scanned the keypad on the elevator door and identified the code as 8539. She promptly entered it, and the elevator doors opened.

The two stepped inside, and the elevator began descending.

Once they reached the underground level, the room lights automatically turned on. Natasha examined the ancient equipment and commented, "The data source can't be here—this stuff is ancient."

However, she noticed a USB port on one of the massive machines. After a brief hesitation, she inserted the drive.

As the USB was plugged in, the system activated, and a computerized voice echoed in the room,

"System initialization required. Do you wish to start?"

Natasha stepped forward and typed, "YES."

As the system booted up, a blocky graphic appeared on the screen, and a camera focused on Steve. The synthesized voice spoke again,

"Steven Grant Rogers. Born 1918."

The camera then shifted to Natasha.

"Natalia Alianovna Romanoff. Born 1984."

Looking at the camera, Natasha skeptically remarked, "This is a recording, right?"

"I am no mere recording, madam," the voice replied.

"Perhaps I am not what I once was when the Captain captured me in 1945, but I am…"

At that moment, a photograph of Arnim Zola appeared on another computer screen.

Steve glanced at the screen, recognizing the image. He began scanning the room and explained, "Arnim Zola. A German scientist under Red Skull's command."

"He's been dead for years."
