"Not at all. I was just quite bored at home today when I received your call. So, going for a stroll outside seems much more preferable over staying at home doing nothing."
"Oh, really?" The familiar voice carried a tint of laughter and a gentle tone that Joanna had never before detected. "That's good then, I was afraid you'd be bored."
"Madam White, are you planning to buy something for your granddaughter?"
"Yes, I was thinking of visiting her tomorrow."
"But didn't you mention that the conflict between you and your daughter-in-law hasn't been resolved yet? If you go over, will she be upset and prevent your granddaughter from seeing you?"
"Humph, that child is a part of the Heath family's bloodline. As a grandmother, I have every right to visit my own granddaughter. She has no right to stop me."
"That's true."
The voices grew louder as they got closer to Joanna.
