"Don't worry about me." Joanna Lawrence looked at the maid who had come over for the third time, rubbed her brow with her hand, and said irritably, "I'll go back after sitting for a while longer."
"But Ms. Joanna....."
Just as the maid was about to persuade her more, she suddenly heard footsteps approaching from behind. She turned to see who it was, and immediately lowered her head deferentially, saying, "Mr. Ashton."
Hearing the maid's call for Mr. Ashton, Joanna raised her head.
A handsome man dressed in black walked up to her.
"I heard from Mr. Rowan that you've been sitting in the garden all afternoon. Did something happen?" Ashton Heath looked down at the girl sitting on the bench, her brows furrowed, and her face full of worry, clearly troubled.
Seeing that Ashton had come, the maid tactfully turned and left, leaving the space for the husband and wife.
