Silks were packed in sealed boxes, their lids sealed tight. Jewelry was arranged in orderly velvet-lined cases. Each item had a purpose.
I watched closely as the convoy aligned, ensuring presentation matched intent. With alliances like this, optics mattered as much as substance.
Actually, the groom's party should arrive independently. Yet to appear alone ahead of my family risked misinterpretation. It could suggest fracture. Distance. Worse, a lack of unity.
