Early in the morning, inside the castle of Sedona City, everyone was eating breakfast.
Today, both Rhea and Amelia were present, and even the exceptionally busy Annie was no exception.
"Rhea, come with me to the Research Department later. A batch of new alloy weapons has just been produced; we can see if there's anything suitable for you to take," Lucas said to Rhea after finishing his milk.
"Mhm." Rhea nodded coolly, a strange flicker crossing her eyes.
"You big cow, don't steal my sandwich!" Just as Annie took a sip of her milk, the sandwich on her plate vanished into thin air.
"I dibn't," Ayesha mumbled with her cheeks stuffed, her eyes darting around.
The fox-eared girl swished her tail, narrowing her eyes in exasperation. "Then what is that piece of meat stuck to the corner of your mouth?"
"Ah, you caught me." Ayesha rubbed her mouth embarrassedly, and indeed, a crumb of meat was stuck there.
"Don't fight, there's more here." Nicole came in from outside with a smiling face, carrying a plate of sandwiches.
"You despicable cow, stay away from me!" Annie acted swiftly, grabbing a sandwich in each hand, forcing Ayesha, who had just reached out, to awkwardly pull her hand back.
"I'm full. You can have this." Seeing the cow-horned girl looking deflated, Lucas handed over his own sandwich, which he had only taken one bite of.
"Thank you, Master!" Ayesha didn't care if Lucas had bitten it; she took it and took a huge bite, her face filled with absolute satisfaction.
"How is the work going?" Lucas looked at the fox-eared girl and asked. Currently, all export orders are being managed by Annie.
"Just a few more batches to ship out, and we'll be done," Annie said unclearly, her mouth stuffed with sandwiches.
"You've worked hard." Lucas smiled gently. He knew Annie was lying; otherwise, why was she only seen in the mornings and evenings? During the day, she was endlessly busy dealing with orders that piled up like snowflakes.
"It's what I should do." Annie waved her hand dismissively, though she felt incredibly warm inside.
"Master, this is a perfect opportunity for Annie to lose some weight," Mina, sitting beside Lucas, remarked with a sharp tongue.
"I am not fat! You cat girl..." Annie flared up like an angry cat.
"Hahahaha!"

After breakfast, Lucas took Mina and Rhea into a carriage and headed toward the Research Department.
Amelia, on the other hand, went to the Air Force Base to practice flying. She had spent all of yesterday wandering around Sedona City with Rhea, so she couldn't slack off today. She desperately wanted to fly under her own power as soon as possible.
Clip, clop, clip, clop...
Soon, the carriage stopped in front of the Research Department, where Henry was already waiting with a squad of soldiers.
"Master!" Upon seeing Lucas, Henry immediately stood at attention and saluted.
"Let's go. Take me to see the new weapons," Lucas gestured.
"Yes." Led by Henry, the group headed toward the Weaponry Institute within the Research Department.
At the institute's entrance, the guarding soldiers saluted and opened the gates upon seeing Henry, Lucas, and the others approaching.
Tramp, tramp, tramp...
Henry led Lucas and the others directly to the training ground located within the institute's area.
"Master, please take a look. These are the spears and swords, as well as armor and bows, forged from the new alloy," Henry gestured. Ahead of them was a long table displaying weapon after weapon crafted from the new alloy.
"Oh..." Lucas casually picked up a sword and swung it a few times. It was indeed much lighter than the ones previously forged from cast iron.
This new alloy was exactly the one the dwarf Euphy had stumbled upon completely by accident. It had now been applied to weapon manufacturing, marking the very first batch of cold weapons produced from it.
"Go test it. Try it against fine steel armor and see if it can block it." Lucas casually handed a new alloy sword to Henry.
"Yes." Henry respectfully took the Tang sword.
Soon, two wooden dummies—one wearing fine steel armor and the other wearing armor cast from the new alloy—were set up in front of them.
"Hah!"
With a loud shout, Henry swung the sword with all his might, hacking at the dummy wearing the fine steel armor.
Clang!!!
With the resounding clash of steel, a crack appeared on the fine steel armor. One had to know this was fine steel armor, not cheap cast iron.
This scene made Rhea's eyes widen slightly. It was truly astonishing. If even fine steel armor had its defenses breached, just how hard were the weapons forged from this new alloy?
"Master, this is incredible," Mina was equally shocked.
If weapons like these were mass-produced and deployed, they would create an overwhelming advantage in warfare. Forget about knights wearing fine steel armor; the standard cast iron armor prevalent in this era wouldn't be able to withstand even a few blows.
"Very good. Try the military crossbow made of the new alloy," Lucas nodded in satisfaction. This new alloy was far tougher than he had imagined.
"Yes." Henry nodded hastily. This time, he picked up a military crossbow forged from the new alloy and fired it at the dummy wearing the fine steel armor.
Thunk!!!
This time, the result was even more shocking. The sharp bolt completely pierced straight through the fine steel armor; only its tail end remained wobbling on the outside.
"Excellent. The lethality has increased significantly." Lucas was very pleased with this. He then looked at the somewhat dumbfounded Rhea and reminded her, "For this upcoming expedition, equip your team with these military crossbows."
"Oh, alright." Rhea snapped back to reality and nodded. In her heart, she felt another degree of certainty about killing the dragon.
"Now try using a fine steel military crossbow and shoot it at the new alloy armor," Lucas said, wanting to test if the armor forged from the new alloy could withstand ordinary fine steel crossbow bolts.
"Understood." Henry picked up a loaded fine steel military crossbow from the side and pulled the trigger. With a swish, the sharp bolt shot directly at the new alloy armor.
Clang!!!
The facts proved that the hardness of the new alloy was unparalleled. The tip of the fine steel bolt merely embedded itself shallowly into the armor. Compared to how the fine steel armor was entirely pierced through by the new alloy bolt, the gap between the two was clear at a glance.
Not to mention the cast iron arrows of this era—they probably wouldn't leave more than a white scratch on it.
"Very good. This must be kept strictly confidential. It is our secret weapon. For the next season's equipment rotation, the entire army will be outfitted with new alloy weapons." Lucas smiled lightly, extremely satisfied with this test.
While other factions were still worrying over cast iron weapons, Lucas was already preparing to equip his forces with the new alloy. His equipment standard was a full two tiers higher than that of any other faction.
