Chapter 636 - Chapter 636: Abandon Hope

A Light, dormant once more, now rising from his soul.

A cacophony of shouts and screams as the people run amok while the King of Nihil rests in his domain, secluded away in his chambers, watching the light trickle back in his miasma-like body. He'd groan and lay his head back, his body in a large tub, once flooded with water, now liquidated to the same ink he was made up of. His head sinks as low as possible, as the Rorschach illustrations sift through the dirty muck he was made of. He could hear the noise from outside calling for his aid, yet he drowns them out all the same. He didn't want to deal with the world, especially in such recent times when he came off as more immortalized than ever because of Enenra's stunt.

"THE WORLD'S CRASHING DOWN! THE WORLD IS ENDING!!!"

"HIDE YOUR CHILDREN! HIDE YOUR WIVES!! HIDE YOUR PETS IF YOU MUST!!!"

"MY BABY! MY POOR BABY! DON'T LOOK OUTSIDE, PLEASE! REMEMBER WHAT OUR KING PRACTICED!!"

"ITS THE DEVIL! ITS THE DEVIL HIMSELF! WE'RE GOING TO DIE AND GO TO HELL BECAUSE OF HIM! I WANT TO BE AT PEACE WITH THIS WORLD, NOT BURN FOREVER! WHY GOD WHYYYY!?!"

"OH WISE KING, OH GLORIOUS RULER! HELP USSSSSSS!!!!!"

Noise upon noise, all of which fell on deaf ears. He'd made the water run and nearly escape out of the tub, just to let the sound drown out the sorrow and fear. He placed his head near it, letting the sound of running water come freely, watching it become a crystal blue before being tainted to an oily black. He thought to himself as how long must it take to truly escape what was given to him, what was saddled onto his shoulders. His eyes drift away, closing, as he falls asleep to the rushing tune the pipes made. As he tried to rest and hope for another day where he can truly die, he was met with a voice. One that he recognized.

"Fah.... ther.... Hel... p... me...."

His eyes open wide, shifting his head directly outside to the situation: The Morningstar's rebirth. The blade that was coming down and cleaving the Circle away, the blade that caught the attention of numerous kingdoms far and wide, even reaching to some that were outside the Circle. Both forces once at war, now joined together to stop the new Devil from resurfacing. He heard the voice from there, but how? But why? He closed his eyes again, taking deep breaths, letting it come naturally once more.

"I'm.... So.... rry.... I.... faih... led you...."

"....No..."

"No, no, no, no, no, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!" His voice roared as he recognized it well, echoing out from his castle, quelling the voices outside. They could hear his pain, watching on as the windows and walls broke apart as he soared across the skies. In that brief moment, to those who valued their lives less than their wants, they could see him sporting numerous eyes across his face, as well as pitch-black wings forged from the mass. They could see him shot out like an arrow, aiming directly towards the Morningstar. They could see small droplets come down from the body, soot-like in how it crumbled, yet still held as a liquid.

"Is he... crying?" One of the Villagers asked. Silence only confirmed their response, and their revelation came crashing down just as much. If the King of Nihil was pushed to cry, then someone must've been affected, someone extremely close to him that he'd rather spare from the world's death than anything else.

Someone akin to family.

Sozo showed no signs of stopping, watching as the chaos ensued, watching as the beast of Xibal descended down upon the group, the clock already chiming the first hour, as Wyvios rained down a storm of daggers from the mouth he held. As he tried to ensure such misfortune would spell death on anyone who barely grazed it, they would hear a voice, a strong energy casted out from the sky. They watched as it blackened, as it coated the very atmosphere, as if it he was dragging night itself to the land. A canvas that quickly snatched all of Kabanaska, before rising up above and changing his form proper. His arms returned, a brush before his fingertips, as he began to draw away the very beast from existence.

One stroke.

Two strokes.

Three.

One for the arm, the other for the body and head, the last at the legs and heart. Slowly, but surely, the illusory beast weaponized under Wyvios was beginning to lose shape. Slowly, it was melting within the miasma, the Sundial still present to carry on its last will, but the body no more. It was clearly a Final Gambit, where the ink swallowed away whoever was its canvas, where the ink decrees its law. Wyvios tried to cut away at the ocean of black, before recognizing who was behind such a miasma, before recognizing who was involved in its creation. The mouths closed shut as the Morningstar backed away, forced to let Xibal be removed from the picture, before being addressed to directly. "Wyvios Toshigo..." He began, as he watched the earth begin to open, another figure escaping from the burial beneath. "Where is my Son...?"

Silence.

Once more, he asked, as he began to draw over the body of the Morningstar, watching the Contract force the creation fly up and escape, already trying to find an answer to this new canvas. "Where... Is my son?" He asked again, his voice more calm than ever. The many eyes that littered across the King of Nihil's body stared down as he watched the straw quickly invade in the ink, the clay quickly forming from the mass. The Misfortune was still being utilized against the people, Sozo included. He could care less, however, as he'd allow the ink to flood over, attempting to catch Wyvios just as much. He was not willing to let go, as he asked for a third and final time.

"Where. Is. My. Son?"
