Chapter 13 - Is this a Forest or a Workshop?! 1

"It's hella packed in here." The guild near our hotel is quite a famous one, as to what the hotel receptionist has said. Lots of travelers and citizens of this city visits this place for various reasons.

This guild is huge, but doesn't it still look packed with all these people in it?

"Looks like we have to wait a long line just for our turn, Master." Frienna is observing the whole lounge, while straightening her black scarf around her shoulders.

"But I really wanna get this over with, 'cause there's a lot of things that I wanna do in this huge city, ya know?"

"I understand, Master. But it seems like we have no other options." She looks at me with her default, mildly smiling expression.

Just as I was about to say something to Lil Frey, a huge built man with a tattooed arm and a huge scar around his right eye came towards us. "Aah, so sorry to interrupt you lovely siblings' conversation, but may I have your attention real quick?"

Frienna looked at him with a serious face, like she always shows to strangers, and asked, "Do you have a death wish?"

"{Lil Frey, be nice.}" I warned her as gentle as I could; telepathically.

"Uhm, I'm so sorry for her harsh words. She doesn't like it when others walk into our conversation. Fortunately, you have our attention now." I chuckled nervously after.

Frienna is still looking at him with her unpleasant gaze. It can't be helped.

The man chuckled. "No worries, young man. You both seems new in this area, so I thought you might want a helping hand." He finishes his sentences while scratching the back of his head.

"Are you god?" What?? This is considered the luckiest moment that has ever happened in my life so far, ya know??

He chuckled again. "Unfortunately, I'm not, but I can help you with the help of the guild, though."

Oh yes, we need that too.

"Actually, we need to get registered as a new adventurer."

He looks at me and Frienna with a curious look. "This little girl too? Isn't she too young to be an adventurer?"

Oh right! Do they have age requirements for the registration, though? If they do, we're cooked!

I look at Frienna with a worried look as she responds back with a mild smile.

Very cute!

Anyway, what should I tell him? Frienna's a weapon and she's disguising herself as a little girl from a soul she consumed, which is the truth that will never be tolerated and understood by anyone other than the four of us.

Judging by the appearance of the man in front of us right now, he is not the type of guy to receive information without questions.

So I must assume that we need to take a different approach, such as LYING!!

Hahaha!! I'm sooo smart for this!

I look at him as I pat Frienna's head gently. "Don't worry, Mister- Uhm..."

"Bastian. The name is Bastian Krag." He introduced himself with a wide smile.

"Uhm, don't worry, Mister Bastian. She is a very talented sister of mine." I chuckle nervously as I continue to pat Frienna's head a bit too hard, messing up her perfectly silky straight obsidian hair.

"I see, but still couldn't get rid of the fact that she's still a child. Are you guys in need of help other than the registration?" Mister Bastian looked really worried, but we really don't need that kind of help.

"Oh no no, absolutely not. We are in good hands together." I wave both of my hands in disagreement.

He look at us with a very curious eye and say, "Are you sure? If not, I can definitely try to help you all with anything!"

Uhm, he's starting to feel like a pushover at this point, and why is he getting closer to me??

"Back off, Mister." From sensing my frustrations, Frienna told him off by casually lifting a hand towards Mister Bastian. That made him smirk with an expression more curious than startled.

I immediately hold her small hand and lowering it down. "Haha, we don't wanna resort to that..."

With a hard slap on my back, the big old man laugh his ass off. "Chill out, young man! This small girl can only dream on hurting an experienced adventurer like me."

Oops, his cocky side showed up...

"May I ask, what is your job as an adventurer?" I asked as I tried to rub the pain feeling on my back.

"I have been a Sword Warrior for over 30 years!" He said in a very excited voice.

"Damn, you're old, man." The thing is, he doesn't look that old at all...

"HAHAHA! I'm not that old. You both are just too young. Pardon my rudeness, what are your names?" Mister Bastian gracefully smile at us.

"Call me Kevin, and this cute little girl right here is Frienna." I bow slightly to him. Lil Frey look at me and copy my action.

"Alright, Kevin and Frienna. I will help you register today."

"Really?? Thank you so much, old man- I mean, Mister Bastian." I bow slightly to him, again.

But it seems like Frienna is not content with it.

"Not to be rude, but how are we going to pass all of these people? It's not like we can cut the line or anything. So, I assume there must be something that we have to do for that." Professor Friennacopedia's suspicion is valid.

I got so happy that I forgot to ask the old man.

Mister Bastian smirked. "We do the old-fashioned way!"

I have a bad feeling about this...

The big old man then guides us to the backdoor of the guild, and we arrive at the huge battle arena.

I knew it...

I fucking knew it!!!

I knew that the term "old-fashioned" was going to be something like this!

Why does everything result in a fight in this world??

Don't they have anything better to do?? What are the gods thinking?!

"Welcome to one of the biggest arena in Technossia!!"

The arena is very wide and not like any other arenas that I've seen in this world. It's totally different than the one in the Hero's Palace from what I've seen last year.

"Please tell me we don't have to fight you..."

The old man laugh out loud. "I'm sorry to disappoint you, young man, but it is how the world has been accustomed from centuries ago."

"Or it's just an excuse for all you battle-freaks." Frienna bashed without warning.

"HAHAHAHA!! Maybe it is, but that's what kept us alive from the evil of this world."

Frienna just look at him with her default facial expression.

"Haa, then let's get this over with." I stretched my body lazily. I really don't want to fight anymore...

"Now that's the spirit!" Mister Bastian unsheathed his huge, long dual-handed sword.

"Let's see what you got! Oh, young Frienna, you may team up with young Kevin! If it's too much you can surrender, alright?" He said in a loud and stern voice from afar.

"Regret is a curse, old man." Frienna warned as she looks at him with her default expression.

"{Whatever it is, hold back so you don't kill him, okay?}" I telepathically advised her.

"{Yes, Master.}" Lil Frey nods as she's looking at me with a mild smiling expression.

"He's here." Frienna alarmed me in a monotone voice.

I immediately turn my head to look in front of me, noticing how old man Bastian speeds off right at us.

"Arghh!!" Old man Bastian roared his excitement as he charged at us at terrifying speed, and he swung his huge sword simultaneously.

"Frienna!" I call out to Lil Frey in a surprised manner.

And with that, she teleported us both at the very top of an elevated ground on the arena.

"This is such a hassle. He can even get past my Tempest Eye."

"That's the least you need to worry about, Master." Frienna said without looking at me.

"What do you mean?"

Before Frienna could answer me, old man Bastian was already right next to us. "No time for chit chat, youngsters!"

He's fast. How in the world did he get past my detection?

He swing his oversized sword down on us.

But we managed to flee from his attack, thanks to Frienna's teleportation magic.

"Quit running, young Kevin! It will drag this fight longer and make you tired, ya know?" He said in a loud voice from a distance with a playful manner.

"What should we do, Master?" Frienna asked me in her default tone, while fixing her black scarf around her shoulders, eyeing the old man from a distance.

Okayy!! I don't have time for rumination! "Frienna, I'm gonna fight him head on, while you get ready from the side!"

Frienna nodded in response. "As you wish, Master." She then fly to the side of the arena.

I look in front of me to where old man Bastian was, and he's gone. I tried searching for him with my eyes along the arena but no clue.

Come on Tempest Eye! Work!!

I pour more mana than usual into the Tempest Eye and it activates!

*Whoosh*

There it is... From behind!

I block old man Bastian's heavy slash with my bare hands. Looks like his movements are so fast, it forces me to use more mana than I usually do.

"Not bad, young Kevin!"

"Thanks-!" Ooh this is heavier than I thought.

Well, I just need to repel him.

I push the sword upwards as I kick him in the stomach.

Too bad, he blocked it using that big ass sword just in time, but at least I sent him a few feet away. That counts, I guess.

Old man Bastian get up from the boulders around him. "Not bad at all, young Kevin!" He complimented me in a loud voice.

"Don't forget about me, old man." A huge shadow force just blasted Mister Bastian from the sky.

It was Frienna.

I jump from my spot towards Lil Frey's side. "Did you kill him?"

Frienna shakes her head. "I held back like you told me to, Master."

"I hope he's not dead..." Frienna is a legendary class weapon after all, so it's not a surprise for her to kill him with a single blast.

"Don't worry, Master. He won't die that easily... Here he comes." Frienna fly upwards to the sky, while I'm now having a duel with old man Bastian's huge sword again.

"Not baaaad, young Frienna! You managed to wound me quite bad." He begin pushing the sword against me, smiling.

This is sooo heavy all of a sudden!! I push it away with my magic, just a little to not get noticed by that old man. "Frienna, backup!"

"Othryn." Frienna muttered her spell, and summoned a dozen of beautiful white swords like she used during our practice in Dumb-Dumb's castle.

The beautiful white swords rain down on old man Bastian mercilessly.

But of course, he managed to get away with it. At least not unscathed, though.

With this opportunity, I rush towards that big old man, grabbing one of the white swords from the ground and slash him with it.

Unfortunately, Mister Bastian Krag is an experienced adventurer, so he blocks it off with his Sword Technique. "Pillar of Iron!"

^Hi everybody! It has been a long time since our last class. So now, Teacher Nito is back with a new knowledge for all of you.

Today's lecture is going to be a bit different than the last, because I'm going to talk about Techniques. As all of you may have known from our last lecture, Technique is a mana-based action capable for all living beings in this world.

However, Techniques comes with a variety of branches, such as Sword Techniques, Battle Techniques, and many more. It may take a while for an individual to master even one of the sub-Techniques in the branches.

Now, let's continue with Mister Bastian's Sword Technique "Pillar of Iron". It is a Technique where the user supply a sufficient amount of mana into their sword, making it sturdier than iron. However, it is a very hard thing to master, since supplying it with excessive mana will break the sword itself.

Alright, good students. This will be the end of today's class, and I will see you in the next class. Until next time.^

"So this is Sword Technique?" I asked him with our swords clashing against each other.

"Yeah, pretty cool right?! But I can show you even more interesting moves!" He push my sword to the back with brute force.

"Mountain Breaker!" Old man Bastian channels more mana into his big ass sword again, growing it bigger this time.

How big does he want that damn sword to be?!

Despite its huge size, he swings it so casually.

But I'm still faster, though.

That big man slam his huge ass sword on the ground where I was just now, cleaving the arena in half.

Craaaazy!

"Are you crazy, old man??" I asked him from behind.

"Ooohh, you are fast, young Kevin!" He laughed out loud.

"{Master, I think it's best if you end this fight right now.}" Frienna is looking at me from the sky.

"{You're right.}" If I drag this even further, that old man will know more about us.

"I'm sorry, old man Bastian, but I really need to end this now." He looks at me with a confused look.

"Frienna!" I call out to Lil Frey, who's flying above us. Midair, her ivory dress and long, silky ebony hair sway with the flow of the wind, enhancing the mysterious dark aura around her.

She raise one hand towards old man Bastian and cast her spell. "Oboné." The little girl summoned a huge black, cold fire around old man Bastian, preventing him from escaping.

"Guess you both proved me wrong." Old man Bastian chuckled calmly in the heart of the black, cold fire.

Frienna fly down to my side, and extinguish the fire.

"So that means we can be adventurers?" I asked him while holding Frienna's hand.

Old man Bastian looked at me with firm eyes, then smiled. "You are already an adventurer. Congrats, youngsters!" He clapped his hands loudly in the middle of the arena.

"So what do we need to do now?" I asked again.

"Follow me." He showed a very cool gesture all of a sudden.

"Hello, welcome to our guild! My name is Anna, and I'll be your registrar for today. Please write your names on this paper and choose one of the five jobs given." A beautiful woman with two brown side buns wearing a green uniform said behind the counter.

Old man Bastian just sit tight on a chair nearby, watching us in silence, while drinking a cup of herbal tea.

Frienna and I write our names on the paper given.

Try not to get shocked by Frienna's writing ability, 'cause we taught her everyday ever since she came to Nadia's castle. She's a pro now, ya know.

Okay, let's see.

They have five jobs for adventurers; Warrior, Brawler, Mage, Fronter, and Monk.

To put it simply, Warriors fight using weapons; swords, axes, spears, and more. Monks on the other hand, normally uses their bare hands, which associates with martial arts, and often utilizing mana Techniques in battle. For Mages, they are Art Users that possesses magical powers, and commonly uses scepters, wands or any magical artifact to concentrate their magical powers for control. Next, Paladins are tanks who normally stand in the front line of the battlefield, and lastly for Clerics, they consists of healers who learns special yet unique Art known as Light Arts. This Light Arts are only applicable for people that has devoted themselves to the Goddess Astraea and earned their scriptures.

If I were to choose, I'd be more suitable as a Warrior, since I have Frienna as my weapon, but our goal is to not let anyone know the true origin of Frienna so long as we're here.

Besides, she also has to get registered as an adventurer.

I look at her, standing beside me while reading the writings on the paper intently. "{Frienna, you choose the Mage option, okay? We don't want them to know that you're a legendary class weapon.}"

"{Yes, Master. I will make sure to be an excellent mage for you.}" She nod her head as she writes.

Good girl!

I smile and pat her on the head.

Anyways, I should choose my job too.

Once chosen, we passed the papers to the guild girl behind the desk.

"Aah, so Mister Kevin, you chose a Monk job, and lil Frienna chose a Mage for hers, correct?" Miss Anna asked with a smile.

"Yes, that's right." I replied.

"Great! By the way, may I know what lil Frienna will be using for her job as a Mage?" While writing on the computer at her counter, Miss Anna asked again.

I look at her in confusion. "I'm sorry, what?"

With that, Miss Anna looks up at me over the counter. "Oh, like the magical artifact that can channel her powers for performing Arts."

Oh that...

"I use my hand." The little girl in white raise her hand in front of Miss Anna from over the tall desk.

The registrar giggled gracefully from only able to see half of Frienna's hand. "I see. In that case, let's check your magical powers before we finalize the registration."

She walks away from the counter, signaling us to follow her.

"Do we have to fight again?" Lil Frey asked Miss Anna from behind.

"Oh no, not at all. We just do a simple test." Denied the latter while walking towards a huge hall.

It gives off a very modern hall, filled with furniture that I've never seen before.

"This way please." The brown haired girl lead the way to the center part of the gathering area.

Wait. Is that a statue?

No, perhaps a power stone?

"Is that what I think it is?" I asked Miss Anna, who's typing something on a platform at the side of the power stone.

"Indeed it is. This stone will measure lil Frienna's magical powers level to determine her rank in the adventurer field." Miss Anna finished her sentences as she types the last thing on the platform.

Why would they have a power stone here when no one can use Arts on this land?

"Uhm..." Before I could ask away my doubt, Miss Anna intercepts.

"I have a feeling on what you might ask. Haha, even though the G'ar Land has almost zero population of people that are able to use Arts, it is still a requirement for a guild to have at least one power stone prepared, just in case for any circumstances, such as now."

That actually made a lot of sense.

"I see, so she just need to touch the power stone, am I right?" I asked the girl in the green uniform.

"Yes, that's correct." Miss Anna agreed as she guided lil Frey to the center of the hall, in front of the power stone.

"Just touch the stone and relax, alright~?" The former warmly advise the latter.

Lil Frey follows her orders with her default expression.

As soon as Frienna touches the bright glowing power stone, darkness slowly spreads all over the very atom of the stone.

"Uhm, is this suppose to happen?" I turn to ask Miss Anna about this, but her expression becomes shocked with a wide eyed look.

"What is it, Miss Anna?" I asked her.

"This- This is something else..." The registrar takes a small, hesitant step backwards.

I look at Frienna, who's still touching the power stone with her default expression, looking at us.

Before I could do anything, the huge power stone began cracking everywhere.

"Frienna, I think you can let go-"

The power stone exploded into pieces in the center of the hall, with large rubble flying everywhere.

I rush towards Miss Anna and create a shield, protecting us from the rubble.

After the explosion calms down, I lower my shield quickly to not get noticed by Miss Anna as I look for Frienna.

"Frienna!"

"I'm right here, big brother." She responded to me while standing in the same place she did before without moving an inch or changing her pose.

I turn to look at Miss Anna, who's paralyzed in shock, while I'm letting go of my hold on her.

I rush towards Frienna as I whisper. "What happened?"

She looks at me with a mildly smile expression. "I guess my magic is far too toxic for this world."

"Haa, I'm just glad that you're alright-" As I give her a stroke on the head, multiple people suddenly blast open the enormous door.

They are all wearing uniforms, so I'm guessing they are from the guild.

"What in the name of Astraea happened here?!" Asked a short bald old man with an angry face.

"Oh, uhm... T-there must be a mistake here, Lord Garrick! I think the power stone is-"

"You...?!" The bald old man look at us in disbelief.

"T-take them away! Now!!" Shout the old man with immense fear in his eyes.

Take us away?? What did he mean by that??

"Wait, let me explain!" I tried to reason with him, but the uniformed men approached us both without hesitation.

Frienna raise her hand in front of us towards the old man.

"{Wait, Frienna! We don't wanna give them the wrong idea.}" I stopped her telepathically.

"{We already did, Master.}" Frienna looks at me with her version of a worried look.

I look over to the approaching guys, who are very intimidating as a group, and I surrender. "Haa, let's go, Frey."

Damn, I really wanted to get registered as an adventurer, though...

Frienna nodded in response and chant, "Othryn."

Once again, a dozen beautiful white swords appear above us, directing at the old man and his people.

"Guhh!?"

"What in the world-??"

"On guard!!"

"Do not falter!!"

All of the uniformed men stop approaching, and in fear, they start to unsheathe their swords.

Too bad this world only knows how to fight.

"STOP THIS INSTANT!!" Shout a loud voice from the broken entrance.

All of us, including the bald old man's guys turn around to find the source of the voice.

It's old man Bastian!

Hurrayy we're saved!!

"What are you doing here, Krag?" Asked the angst bald old man.

Mister Bastian winked at me and Frienna before he answered Baldy's question. "I heard an explosion coming from this hall, so I came to check. Luckily, I was right on time~"

"Whatever, just get rid of these two!" Shout Baldy again, pointing at us with his wrinkled short index finger.

I just hate how he sounds, and Frienna is still holding the sword spell above us.

"No can't do, sir. They are respectfully adventurers." Old man Bastian refused Baldy's order in a playful but serious manner.

I think I saw smoke coming out of Baldy's ears.

"What do you mean no can't do?? These two people are a threat to our city! We should dispose of them quickly, you understand me?!"

I feel like ripping the hell out of his vocal chords right now, not gonna lie...

"C'mon, Lord Garrick. Let's not show our fellow adventurers our Guild Master's bad side, hm?" Old man Bastian wraps his arm around Baldy's shoulders, which upsets him even more.

"We do not mean any harm!" I tried to make it clear to him of our intentions.

Old man Bastian is looking at us with a smile on his face, while still wrapping his arm around the short Baldy's shoulders. "How about we continue our talk in someplace more private, hm?"

"Tch, follow me." Baldy roll his eyes at us, and turn around, leaving the messy hall.

I switch my gaze towards the registrar, who's watching everything in silence. "Are you alright, Miss Anna?"

"I-I'm fine, somehow." She doesn't look fine, though.

"I'm sorry for all of the inconvenience..." I bow down to her.

She looks at me with a wide eyed expression. "Oh no no! It's not a big deal. In fact, I'm the one who should apologize for reacting the way I did. Forgive my rudeness..." Miss Anna bow down to me instead.

Before I could say anything, Frienna intercepts. "Big brother, they are waiting for us."

"Oh, right. See you when I see you, Miss Anna!" I wave at her from the entrance as I walk away out of sight.

Me and Lil Frey both enter Baldy's office.

"Sit." Ordered the short wrinkled man, who's sitting on his chair behind his desk in the middle of the wide, fully furnished room.

"Make yourself comfortable, alright." Said old man Bastian as he pour herbal tea into our cups on the table. He really knows how to comfort people like a real dad.

Without any hesitations, Frienna helps herself to the tea on the table.

"I'll cut to the chase. Why do you reek of demons, boy?" Asked Baldy in a stern voice, making even old man Bastian uncomfortable in a way.

Talk about cutting straight to the point!

How should I answer this??

No.

How did he know? Do I smell that bad?? I don't think I do...

In fact, I don't think I smell at all.

That's not the point! How in the world did he know I have associated with a demon??

Crap, he's more skilled than I thought.

'W-what do you mean, Lord...?" Uhm, what's his name again?

With that, old man Bastian place the cup of tea on the table with a smile. "Right! Introducing, the one and only Master of the Ravirand Guild, Garrick Myrrveil!"

Do I give an applause or what? Forget it!

"Oh, right. What are you implying, Lord Garrick?" I asked him again.

He looks at me with a stern gaze like his eyeballs would burst at any moment.

Talk about scaryyy.

"No point in hiding it, boy. Most skilled adventurers could tell from the amount of mana you're emitting right now. No wonder Krag approached you earlier today. Talk about those smell... Bleh-"

So I do smell!!

Old man Bastian is looking at me with a cup of tea in hand. He's not saying anything, which makes this whole vibe feels kinda awkward.

I'm busted, aren't I?

I take a look at Lil Frey who's sipping the cup of tea in a nonchalant way. She doesn't act out even though Baldy suspects something, which really shows the gap between our powers.

I mean, even if they know that I'm contracted to a demon, Frienna here could've sliced them off before they can do anything.

"I guess there's no point in hiding it now." I take a sip from the cup of tea.

The girl in white beside me share a curious gaze.

I gently place the cup on the table and say, "I was banished from the Hero's Kingdom for treason."

Both of the adventurers gasped out loud with wide eyed expression on their face.

"You... were banished by the Hero Llyris Eagor?" Old man Bastian asked me in shock.

"Yes, but it's a long story, so I hope you understand and won't pry about it anytime soon." I slightly bow down to them from my seat.

"Oh, I guess we won't know until then..." Old man Bastian scratch the back of his head awkwardly.

I take it as he's accepting it sincerely.

But definitely not like a certain someone.

"That still doesn't answer my question. Why do you stench that of a demon, boy?" Baldy hit his desk with his old wrinkled hand out loud, flinching me slightly.

Is it okay to tell them the truth; that I have a demon as my contracted partner? What if they don't trust me anymore after that? Well, Baldy sure isn't trusting me anytime soon, even before this, but old man Bastian...

I don't wanna lose another...friend.

"You sure are a stubborn old man." Frienna intercepts while gently swirling the cup of tea in her hand.

"Excuse me?" Baldy asked in a shocked yet stern voice that might explode at any moment.

"You ask question that you can't even take the answer to. I know how old men like you hates confrontations." Her obsidian eyes are looking at Baldy unpleasantly.

I don't know how Frienna has that knowledge, 'cause she's only less than a decade years old, but I'm just going to stay quite on this one.

Baldy is now fuming on his seat. He grabs a book on top of his desk in front of him and slams it on the floor near us.

"You know nothing about me! You, besides the red haired boy, are the most mysterious in this room! Who... No. What even are you?" Baldy's eyes are very sharp, staring at Frienna, who's still looking at him unpleasantly.

Talk about his anger issues...

The both of them are staring at each other, leaving a strong awkward yet heavy vibes in the air.

I know that I should stop Lil Frey right now, but that'll make things harder for us. By doing so, we will give Baldy a chance to ask us more about our origins.

"Do you wish to know more about us?" Frienna asked him, swirling the cup of tea in her hand.

Baldy stand up from his chair and angrily walk towards us. "I was just being careful! Don't want any foreign creatures becoming adventurers in our peaceful city."

Did he just indirectly call us aliens??

"Woah woah, let's us all calm down and chill, alright?" Old man Bastian raise both of his big muscled hands in between the two from his seat.

He looks at Baldy. "Let's just give them a chance, Lord Garrick."

Face red with anger, Baldy snaps at old man Bastian. "What?!"

The latter takes a cup of tea on the table and lean back on the couch. "We can't afford to lose such fighters like them, can we?" Old man Bastian takes a sip of the tea after he finishes his sentence.

And with that, Baldy grunts in frustration. He clenches his fists tight enough to even make a soft clinking noise coming from his rings.

"Fine. You two, get outta here." Baldy turns around and go back to his desk in front of the two huge windows, emitting bright ray of sunshine from outside.

"You guys can take your adventurer's IDs from Anna at the front counter." Old man Bastian is waving at us.

Me and Frienna look at each other and I don't even know what has happened.

Luckily, we don't have to answer his questions. I can't imagine what we would have to do to get out of that situation.

You know what? Let's just leave this office immediately.

I stand up, bow to both of them, and guide Lil Frey to the huge door, leaving the office and their sight behind.

——— ——— ———

(Bastian's POV)

"You are being awfully keen to them." Lord Garrick sits on his chair, organizing messy papers and books in front of him. He massages his temples using his other hand, while resting his elbow on the desk.

I stand up and walk towards my superior, picking up the slammed book on the floor from before and putting it on his desk.

"I guess you could say that. That kid has a man in him."

Flipping through all those papers, Lord Garrick takes the book that was put on the desk by me. He organizes all the materials on the desk carefully.

"Come on, Krag. He is 26 years old, and he has that kind of power. Not to forget the demon stench on him as well." Lord Garrick complained.

"He has his origin... We all do. How about you just put that thought aside and use him for our upcoming war, Lord Garrick?" As much as I want to avoid using young Kevin to our benefit, it seems like I don't have any other choice but to go on with it... In fact, I'm doing it for their safety too. Lord Garrick is not someone he wanna mess with in this city.

Lord Garrick takes his time with what I just said as he's staring blindly at the papers and books that are written in Mora, which is the language that everyone speaks in this world.

He then tilts his head to the back, looking up at me with a stoic yet ignorant expression on his face.

"Then, you better make it worth my sympathy for them."
