Chapter 171 - An unfamiliar Kiana Kaslana

Kiana Kaslana felt like she was having the worst day of her life.

No, scratch that. She was having the worst few months of her entire existence.

First, her friend Azakura Mizuki suddenly attacked her and transformed into a monstrosity. Then, she couldn't even converse with her friend and had to kill her!

After that, everyone isolated her in the Academy, since in their words, she was a so-called 'bad omen' and would bring 'misfortune' to everyone she made contact with.

Fortunately, she had made a good friend- Raiden Mei.

But unfortunately, that same friend's life was pretty much ruined because her father was convicted and went to jail.

Was this all actually enough to be deemed worse than what happened with her parents? Not particularly, however-

As if all that wasn't enough, an apocalypse just happened! All the students of her school were infected and attacked her!

After countless trials and brave fights to the death, she finally managed to escape with severe injuries-

As if!

As a seasoned Valkyrie that has been (un)professionally trained by both her mother and father, she didn't have any trouble getting out of the Academy.

…Unfortunately, even with a strong body that had the blood of a Saint and a Kaslana, her fighting skills were, simply put, severely lacking.

Could one blame her? Her mother died when she was young, and her father….Heh, though Kiana didn't blame him for his disappearing act, it was indeed a fact that the old guy simply didn't teach her enough!

Manipulating honkai energy? Nope. Directly and effectively killing honkai zombies with one blow to their vital spot? Nada. Dealing with those large honkai beasts? No!

Besides, weren't outbreaks of honkai supposed to be small in scale and only produce a few zombies or one or two of those beasts?

Then what the hell was this?

Streets filled with zombies, cracks in the sky, and gigantic beasts parading around as if they were patrolling their own territory.

While Kiana would love nothing more than to deny it, there was no doubt that this was something more- this was a full-blown Honkai Eruption

What a joke!

She was clearly here to relax, learn some standard knowledge, and maybe find her father…Yet she stumbled into an eruption? Something that happens every few decades or so?

"Damn my luck!"

She slapped the wall without any real force, hoping to vent and calm down.

She prided herself on being a calm and easy-going person, but faced with such a situation, even the most fearless person would feel despair

"....."

Then, with vigilance, she looked around-

It was a grand hallway, luxurious for sure. Naturally, it would have evoked a sense of excitement and familiarity within the white haired girl-

If only there weren't for the pale, almost covered in pink line corpses lying all around her.

"Phew…."

Kiana breathed a sigh of relief as she wiped her forehead.

Fortunately, there were only corpses. If any of those actual live zombies were attracted here, they'd be in big trouble.

Well, she is sure that she would be fine. After all, she does have quite a bit of confidence in herself.

-However, the same couldn't be said for the survivor she had just rescued.

Only now, that they had temporarily escaped from danger, did Kiana have the time to observe her fellow survivor.

Glistening silver hair, beautiful and brilliant blue eyes that were now dim, blank, and staring at her in a daze.

And with that black outfit of his…it was quite cool.

Also….handsome, very handsome.

He has that devilish charm…Yet it's blended with an otherworldly perfection and allure that doesn't seem human.

'This guy…'

Is he a honkai beast with the ability to seduce and lure his targets?

She couldn't help but have these thoughts- because in fact, this man is definitely the most handsome man he has ever seen.

-Which actually doesn't say much, since she herself hasn't seen and been in contact with many men.

How wasteful though….If only this guy were a woman….heh

"This is quite concerning. I originally wanted to survey the surroundings…."

In this awkward silence of fellow survivors, Kiana Kaslana became the first one to speak up.

Undoubtedly, she understood that this boy hadn't come into contact with the darkest places of the world, and now, understandably, would be in either deep despair or would be denying reality.

And so, as a fellow 'serior', it was up to her to take the lead and establish a leader-like presence that would put him at ease.

"Yet here I am again, back at Senba Academy….At least I met up with another survivor- you."

Once again, she mused aloud.

And it was true. At first, after escaping the Academy, she had two goals-

Find survivors, and search for any means to communicate with the outside world.

And being outside was also a carefully planned tactical decision.

Closed-off spaces were far more dangerous when dealing with the hordes of honkai zombies.

At least, for these zombies whose only method of attack is at close range…Dealing with them is far easier in an open space.

-Kiana originally thought so.

But…who would have thought that there were so many gigantic beasts out there!

And who would have thought that only slight cracks of damage would appear within them after she bashed them with her only weapon- a baseball bat.

Oh, how she wished she had her beloved pistols with her….

Of course, since these beasts are slow, and her house isn't too far from the Academy- she also had this goal of retrieving those pistols.

….However, that plan immediately became null and void when she saw a random person standing still in a daze- with a honkai beast launching an attack right from behind him!

That fool had no reaction whatsoever- that blow was about to kill him, yet it was as if he was deaf and blind.

In that moment, instincts took over her, and she immediately rushed to his rescue. Whether it was because she enhanced her speed with honkai energy, or just because of luck, she actually succeeded and tackled him to the ground, thus saving him

And this person naturally is…

"Why are you staring at me?"

She flicked her white hair, staring back at the person's blue eyes.

'This guy…could he be a brainless and dull beauty?'

She couldn't help but think so as she saw him being dazed again and again- both times in important and crucial moments.

Or maybe it's because he's actually a mimic honkai beast excelling in lowering his target's guard and then killing them? In which case, that dull and blank gaze would make sense.

"I know I'm beautiful." She rolled her eyes as her lips curved upwards into a small smile. "However, we have more important matters to be concerned about right now, don't we?"

And with that, she waited for her fellow survivor's response.

But judging from his rapidly changing expression….He is probably still taking it all in and didn't hear her.

…..

Adam was currently experiencing the worst day of his life- of both his lives.

Boss-level common honkai beasts, a familiar silly Tuna that had abruptly become an elegant young lady, and a Nagazora city that was full of a hostile honkai energy that was enough to even corrupt him

'I'm so fucked, I'm so fucked, I'm so fucked I'm so fucked, I'msofucked I'msofuckedfuckedfucked….'

Sometimes, he hates his perfect memory and his intelligence.

Because…If all those conditions are added together, then isn't there only one conclusion to be made?

Adam has somehow traveled to the world of Gun Girls Z/Honkai Gakuen/ Honkai Impact 2.

In short, this place was-

Honkai Impact 3rd's messed-up, dark, and hellish older sister, where everyone suffers and remains miserable for all of eternity.
