Ian looked at the teacher and said, "I miss my mom!"
Donna, sitting to the side, glanced at Ian and started to laugh. "You're a big kid, and you still miss your mommy? I don't even miss my mom."
Ian heard him but ignored him.
The teacher said to Ian, "Just hang in there, class will be over soon! Come on, I'm going to ask a question about what we learned today. Let's see who can answer it."
Donna immediately sat up straight, listening to the teacher's question.
Before the teacher had even finished asking, he raised his hand.
Lana Langley stood to the side, watching her son's enthusiastic display with a smile. "Did you see that? My son is so well-behaved."
Anne Sutton had no interest in watching Donna. Her eyes were fixed on Ian.
They were in class right now, so she felt it would be rude to go in and interrupt.
Donna stood up, but when the teacher finished stating the problem, he couldn't answer it!
