David Hayes was also there today.
After his promotion, he was now able to attend some of the Fawcett Group's more important meetings.
He sat to the side, watching as Caleb Summers publicly contradicted Charles Prescott, whose expression immediately soured.
When titans clash, a mere mortal like him couldn't get involved at all.
...
Having been publicly humiliated by Caleb Summers, Charles Prescott had a dark expression on his face as he left the meeting room.
David Hayes hadn't left either. He first went to greet Nathan Fawcett, "Brother-in-law."
Nathan Fawcett glanced at him, said nothing, and left with Caleb Summers.
David Hayes stood to the side, frowning as he watched Nathan Fawcett dismiss him without a second glance.
'I mean, I'm married to Sharon Sutton,' he thought. 'Doesn't that make me part of their family?'
'That makes me family with Nathan Fawcett too!'
'And yet he won't even look at me.'
'Acting as if he completely looks down on me.'
