Anne had intended to use this chance to shake him off, but a glance revealed he was clutching her hand tightly.

Anne Sutton stood to the side, watching the man. "Butler Walters," she said, "you can look after him here. I'm going to sleep in the room next door."

Anne went to Ian's room, took a quick shower, and went to bed.
In the middle of the night, someone crept into her bed and lay down beside her.
She smelled the alcohol on him and wrinkled her brow.
'I can't believe he'd follow me here just to bother me!'
"What are you doing?"

Afraid of waking Ian, Anne dragged him right out of the room.
