Several minutes or so of the two powerhouses' tit and tat was torturous to their companions. They never outright insult each other, but it was full of the passive-aggressive flair that nobles were known for.
Worst of all, they often unconsciously let out their powerhouse auras, making everyone's eyes twitch in discomfort.
For example, Sir Zaol would say something like "I'm surprised you're still alive."
Then the other old man would quip something like, "I live in a City, after all, not in the boonies."
Another would say, "You're still stuck at that level after two years of seclusion?"
The old man would reply, "How many aether stones did you waste this time?"
They would even raise some 'old stories'. For example, since Laizon was much older than Zaol, he actually had a lot of the latter's childhood stories. "When you were a toddler, you defecated everywhere. It was disgusting."
