Chapter 33 - Trial Of Aim

Perman appeared again, and smiled.

"Congratulations on beating your second trial. Now onto the next."

"Your next trial will be the Trial of Aim, this trial can be said to be simpler, and easier than the last two."

"The aim of the Trial of Aim is to hit all the targets within a set amount of time. Missing a target will decrease your time. You will not be allowed to move, and you will only be allowed to utilise lightning element attacks."

"You will have 10 minutes to hit all 2000 targets, and each miss will decrease your time by 5 seconds."

"You will also be given 1 hour of preparation time. That is all, any questions?"

Alex shook her head.

"Then let the Third Trial of the 15 Trials of Lightning, the Trial of Aim, begin!"

Alex was teleport onto a floating platform, and around it were hundreds upon thousands of circular targets that moved around, some moved slowly, and lazily whilst others zoomed around.

A counter of 60:00 appeared at the top of her vision, and she understood that this was the timer for her preparation time.

With the amount of targets, Alex had to hit 10 targets every 3 seconds. This was a difficult request, and since she could only use lightning element mana, her only option was to create a spell that could hit all the targets.

The best way would be to create a spell that sent many projectiles to precise areas. The problem was conjuring these projectiles.

So far, Alex only had experience in gathering lightning element mana together into one massive attack, and she had yet to try splitting that mana apart into multiple attacks which would make this challenge a tad difficult.

And so she began experimenting. She tried to condense her mana before splitting it, however it just scattered, and she had to re-condense it.

Many methods were tried, from forcefully attacking the ball of mana to split it to trying to make a chant in order to shoot multiple attacks.

The latter worked, but the chant took too long, and there wasn't enough time to take care of all the targets.

In the end the only method that worked was condensing mana in two areas. The only issue was that although she could condense mana in both hands, if one hand was slightly less condensed, the stronger hand would suck all the mana away from the weaker hand which resulted in a failure.

As such, Alex began practising her mana control in order to control the condensation.

Despite managing to finally stably shoot out two beams of lightning, one from each hand, it was still too slow.

The best method would be to condense in more places, but that would require even more mana control.

The only option now was to use the remaining preparation time to practise mana control.

Time flew by, and the Trial of Aim began.

Alex condensed lightning element mana into points on her fingers, and wherever she pointed, a beam of lightning would shoot out, accurately striking the targets, and obliterating it.

With that, she swiftly passed the level.
