Chapter 86 - 86 - Water bending Great Domain

After a long and excruciating day, Levi finally managed to prevent Sokka from meeting Yue, he had never seen his brother so determined and he didn't know whether to be proud or annoyed, one thing is for certain, there were forces at work today that nobody besides him had noticed, there were just too many coincidences for it to be normal.

'I wonder if I had pissed up these forces hehe.' he couldn't help but think, he hoped he did.

Knock knock

A knock came from the sealed ice door to his private rooms, waving his hand the ice door lowered showing a man in his mid-thirties, Levi remembered him to be one of Pakku's disciples who had performed with him at the feast.

"Master Levi, master Pakku would like to meet with you if you're free," said Pakku's disciple in a polite tone, Levi wasn't surprised he was calling him a master and being polite despite their age difference, if even the chief was polite this was nothing. He was again reminded of the importance of strength.

"Alright, lead the way," said Levi as he prepared to head out, 'Let's hope he is not some creepy old guy that's into young handsome boys like myself,' thought Levi unwillingly remembering Herbert from Family Guy.

"No need Master Levi, Master Pakku said he'll come meet you if you're free, If you'll excuse me I'll go tell him," said the disciple as he gave a small bow.

'What a generous guy.' thought Levi sarcastically, "Alright I'll be waiting for him." he said as the disciple walked away.

An: They're calling him master as in master water bender, not the way Tobirama calls him master.

Inside Levi's temporary lodgings, he and Pakku sat across from each other drinking warm tea that Pakku had brought along and warmed on the hearth by the side, with one sniff Levi immediately recognized it as Iroh's tea.

"Your sister is quite something alright," said Pakku in a calm tone as he sipped some of his tea.

Hearing him Levi had to control himself to not send an ice lance directly through his heart, "Is she now?" he said, hoping Pakku would clarify more to save his life.

"She is, in fact she might be the brightest water bender I have seen in all my years…except for you of course."

'Lead with that next time,' thought Levi, groaning in his head, he took a sip of tea to calm himself.

"I am glad you think that," said Levi, smiling, making Pakku show a faint hint of a smile in turn, unaware that he had just dodged certain death, "I had always seen her talents and believed in her, even when she didn't, it was just a matter of when she would bloom, I hope you can help her with that."

"I will do my best," said Pakku before an uncertain look appeared on his face as if hesitating whether to speak or not, finally he appeared to have made up his mind as he spoke, "If you don't mind me asking, why come all the way into the north pole to look for a teacher for the Avatar, you're more than enough to teach both of them yourself."

'Because I am lazy and because the universe would probably do everything in its power to make sure events go how it's supposed to.' Those were the first thoughts that came into Levi's mind, of course he said none of that.

"I might be strong, no I know I am strong," he said with certainty making Pakku raise an eyebrow, "Few can match me in the entire four nations, but having strength doesn't necessarily mean one is a good teacher, I would trust the older generation better with something as important as this, especially since it is my sister and the Avatar."

Hearing him Pakku couldn't help but unconsciously puff his chest a little bit in pride, it seemed the answer satisfied him quite a bit, 'That's right, experience still plays a major factor, It seems Arnook was right, the boy has wisdom far beyond his age.'

Of course it was all part of Levi's little manipulation tactics, with his mentor skill he was sure to be an amazing teacher, but few could resist being praised, especially if it was being done in subtle ways just like now, nobody liked a bootlicker, this way he had answered his question without raising any suspicion and Pakku would put even more effort into teaching Aang and Katara.

"I see, I am glad there are still sensible young men like you around, Tenzin did a good job," said Pakku before he noticed his slip up, "I am sorry I didn't mean to…"

"No it's ok, he taught me better than to keep grieving his death, he would want me to be strong and move on," said Levi with a smile making Pakku relax.

"Amazing tea by the way," said Levi as he sipped on his tea making Pakku nod his head in contentment as he did the same, "You wouldn't have procured it from a certain old firebender would you now."

Hearing him Pakku immediately started coughing as he choked on his tea, most of it went into his lungs, he had to resort to water bending to get it out before he stared at Levi with incredulous eyes as he took deep breaths in, "Ha-ah, sorry for my poor state, I should have known, you're Tenzin's student after all."

"Haha, It's alright, in fact.." pausing mid-sentence Levi pretended to reach into the insides of his clothes as he pulled a small bundle from his inventory, "Please accept this, a little gift for taking care of my sister and Aang," he said as he handed him the bundle.

Before he even held it Pakku's eyes widened, he could smell the fragrant smell wafting out of it, "No way…Is this Iro…his tea?" he couldn't help but ask, correcting himself mid-sentence to not mention Iroh by name.

"It sure is, make sure to use it sparingly," said Levi with a small smile.

He didn't mind giving it away, gifts can go a long way and often one is repaid with way more, plus with Void Monarch now he can visit Iroh anytime he wants to procure more, the only problem is determining his exact location. He made a mental note to leave a space anchor on Iroh the next time they met to make it easier for himself.

Nodding seriously Pakku tucked the small bundle into the insides of his clothes as if he was hiding the most precious of treasures, he only spoke when it was safely tucked away, as if he was afraid he would lose it, "Thank you, I was running low, this small bundle would do just fine to get this old man through the tough days ahead."

Waving him off, Levi sipped on his tea, Pakku did the same before they started discussing water bending, from movements to katas to advanced application and techniques.

"I have a theory, master Pakku, of what the peak form of water bending is like," said Levi, his eyes shining, bordering on madness, and Pakku didn't stop him, he knew better than to interrupt someone talking so passionately.

"In its ultimate form water can triumph over all other elements, it can freeze the ground so thoroughly that the earth can't be controlled, it can constrain the air using the water molecules around us so no air bender can wield it." hearing him Pakku's eyes turned wide in shock but he wasn't done yet

"It can turn the environment around the bender so cold that it prevents fire from generating, and of course, the most important of them all, the bender would be able to take control of all the water around, bending it to his own will so no other bender will be able to control it, the water would only respond to his own will, it will be a great domain around the water bender where only his will exist and everyone else's won't matter."

Hearing the last of his words Pakku was so shaken he almost dropped his cup of tea, he wanted to get up slap the table and say that it was crazy, that it was madness and it wasn't possible, but the reality in front of him told him otherwise, the young man in front of him wasn't even twenty and was already one of the strongest benders to have ever lived, what's to say he can't get stronger, that he can't achieve this crazy dream of his, this peak water bending, one day.

To say Pakku was impressed by how deep Levi's foundation in water bending was would be an understatement, but he wasn't surprised, not after the show outside the gates of the north pole, and not after hearing his grand vision of water bending ultimate form.

"I hope I live to see the day you achieve that my young friend," said Pakku with a smile.

Even Levi was shocked, he thought he would oppose his idea and tell him it was impossible but Pakku did none of that, Levi couldn't help but gain another layer of respect for the guy, of course everything he said was only in theory, he didn't know when he would be able to achieve something like that, but he would never stop trying.

He was also pleased to see that he had learned new things from Pakku, Tenzin had made sure Levi didn't underestimate anyone anymore before he passed away, even if he had done it unintentionally, and Levi had never forgotten that lesson.

Although that didn't mean that Pakku was more knowledgeable than him or a better water bender, it's just that every person's experiences and insights are unique, rarely will two people have the same insights if ever, and by sitting there and sharing their experience they both benefited, Levi even more so as he saw his water bending Level up.

Sokka was depressed, he was going crazy, he was doing everything in his power to meet the sweet and beautiful princess he had seen on his first day here, but even after trying the entire day he came up empty-handed, it was as if there was an invisible force that was preventing them from meeting.

Still, he wasn't going to be dissuaded, he would still do his best tomorrow, he didn't know why, maybe it was because of her beauty, but he felt something drawing him to her.

"What's with that creepy smile?" Katara's accusatory voice came from the side startling Sokka from his thoughts.

"N….n..nothing, it's nothing, leave me alone," he said, stuttering on his words as he turned on his bed, his back facing Katara and Aang.

Marik was a normal person from the northern water tribe, he wasn't a bender by any means but it never bothered him, he made a decent enough living being a fisherman who got out every day to fish for the tribe, he knew how important his job was for the tribe and he had always taken it seriously.

But today unlike other days Marik couldn't help but have a downcast look on his face as he looked at his pitiful catch, barely a hundred fish filling only one small wooden box on the side of his boat, in all his years as a fisherman never had he experienced something like this.

They were always careful, he and the other fishermen, only fishing moderately to not exhaust the marine life around and disturb their ecosystem, never fishing in the same place too much and never exceeding a certain quantity each day, but today it was as if 99% of the fish in the north pole have disappeared, he even tried switching his location multiple times but the results were still the same.

"Boss what should we do?" asked a water bender from the side, he always hired water benders to stir his boat and make his trip easier, but looking at his pitiful haul he wanted to cry, it wasn't even enough to cover the wage of the water bender let alone make a profit.

He wasn't poor by any means, he had decent savings from all his years fishing that could support him and his family for a while, but if the fish population remained the same he feared he might have to change professions, "Ha-ah, that will be all for today Pa, take us back home," said Marik sighing, as the water bender Pa directed the pitifully empty boat back to the northern water tribe.

Thousands of feet in the air where nobody could see with the naked eye.

"YOU ATE ALL THE FUCKING FISH OF THE NORTH POLE?" Levi's scream echoed in all directions, thankfully there was nobody around to hear it, nobody except Acnologia who held his head down as he flapped his wings, soft dragon whimpers escaping him.

Levi couldn't help but rub his forehead as he stared in disbelief at his companion, he didn't even know something like this was possible, even his inventory couldn't contain that much fish, and that's why he had released Acnologia into the waters of the north pole in the first place, he had thought he would just have some fun before coming back, but alas.

If things kept going this way the northern water tribe would die of starvation, or suffer complete economic collapse as they tried to cover for the shortage of food by buying it from other countries, the fire nation wouldn't even need to move a muscle.

"Get back inside, you're grounded," said Levi in a harsh tone getting a soft whimpering sound again from Acnologia, "I don't want to hear about it, inside, NOW," he said, screaming in the end as Acnologia divided into his chest disappearing from where he was, he couldn't help but shiver as he thought of the consequences if Acnologia had found the Moon and Ocean spirits,

"Now how do I fix this," said Levi, feeling a headache coming as he looked at the empty fishing boat heading towards the tribe.

'I could either buy something from the system to help me with this or I could physically transport large amounts of fish from other areas.' thought Levi, already feeling the headache settling in.

In the end, he decided on the second option, he didn't think it was wise to waste precious system points like that when he could do it by himself, 'Transportation it is then, and I know just where to get them.' he thought with an evil smile as he teleported from there.
